If you want a constictor, I'd go for the smaller species to start out with. Like the Ball Python! They are just plain awsome! They aren't as tempermental as other constrictors, so you can hold it, but when it comes to feeding time, they are RUTHLESS to the little rodents. So you'll never be bored with one of them. Oh, and they're pretty regular feeders, as opposed to the other constrictors who tend to be VERY picky.
