Flying By Anna Mele You hear the plane engine roar You start to feel a shake And suddenly you start moving Faster down the lane And then a special feeling One unlike any else The feel of rising off the ground The rumbling stops And then you feel you have your Own pair of wings You close your eyes and imagine The wind flowing past your face In the air with space You feel you’re free from all gravity With feathers rushing past your face You begin to swoop down with grace And see the world in its beautiful place Going faster and faster because you are free You glide and swoop up Over the clouds where angels rest You stretch out your wings and take a rest After your sleep it’s time to fly Up and up and up Now you’re in space over the world Nothing holding you down You fly so high you touch the stars like little balls of White light You fly up and over You’re facing the sky resting your head on your arms You feel it is time to put your wings to the test And quickly swoop backwards You point yourself like an arrow to get to great speed Faster and faster and faster You’re back with the clouds and continue to swoop Down Closer and closer until you’re just about to hit And then you wake up to the sound of the world The feel of gravity and plane Knowing you’ve got to do something many don’t You feel you’ve been blessed You know that you will never forget The magic you felt The magic you kept
