In answer to your aquarium answer/question: no, American Horror Story doesn't quite count as a mystery TV show. I haven't actually seen it, but from the descriptions I've read it seems to be much more focused on the shock and sadness (ie: horror) than a how- or whodunnit. I'd count crime shows (Castle, Sherlock, even some of Leverage) or shows spent untangling how the characters got where they are (half of Firefly, Daybreak miniseries, or even Myth Busters). But your answer had more thought than most, believe it or not, so I figured I could answer the question.
