About
Hello, I'm Scorplett. I am an Irishwoman and Wiccan, living in the Boyne Valley in Ireland with my husband.
I am a legal academic and work in aviation security. I am a High Priestess and Elder of the Alexandrian tradition of Wicca. I run a small Alexandrian training coven. I play guitar and bass and used to play in a band in my early 20's. I'm a trained classical Animator and alumni from the acclaimed Disney accredited School of Animation in Dublin, Ireland. I foster rescue dogs and enjoy walking on the beach and in the woods with the Dogs and my dear husband.
I do one thing here on Gaia, I give reasoned and all but complete information, advice and genuine knowledge and experience in one subject. That is it. I don't think I've ever even posted once in most of the very popular regs threads. I've spent most of my time since joining Gaia in 2006 in the ED M&R. I confine my posting to topics relevant to Wicca, Witchcraft, Paganism and Celtic/Irish Deities and Mythohistories. I've never posted on the topics of Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Budhism or any number of other subjects in M&R. Not because they do not interest me, but because I have little of any information to add and think it best to leave those things to others better qualified. Since it's beginning, and in recent years, I've spent quite a lot of time in SNF. I do not post nor read threads other than those relevant to Wicca, Witchcraft, Paganism etc. I've never read nor posted in threads about Vampires, Werewolves, Ghosts, Doomsday or any of the other frequent topics in SNF or any other forum for that matter. The only exception being that I've posted three or four times in the Politics forums.
Mostly due to my academic background and the associated lawyerly skills, my writing can be quite formal. I'm quite used to this giving people the impression of my being cold and unfeeling. I've been told it enough times. It used to upset me when I'd hear that, but I don't mind that too much anymore - I'm too long in the tooth to care. If you find my writing to be cold or harsh, I would suggest checking if you are reading emotion or attitude into it that I'm sure isn't intended by me to be there. If you want to converse with me, ask me questions, I'm open to help in any way I can, but my tone nor anything else about me will change to fit your needs.
I don't mind if people disagree with me. It happens all the time. I argue both opinion and fact every day and in a way where the goal is not merely to be understood, but to open up commonality of thought. I understand quite well that there is always more than one interpretation of fact and more than one way to apply it also.
I can have a temper. It is generally very hard to rise. It can be swift in a small few instances. I can frustrate quite easily. I do love to argue but I hate belligerence. The arguing I love is that of debate, not of conflict. I'm not always the most approachable and I don't often hide my intentions.
I have stated many times the reason why I deate the issue I debate. It boils down to my oaths to defend and protect. I'm the sort of person who perserveres above and beyond what I should. But I'm human and have my limits. I will not engage beyond my limits though I will always stretch for a genuine seeker.
