feathers woven into one braid of hair that hangs down the
side of his head.

JACK

Toucan gives Jack a suspicious, menacing stare.

JACK (CONT'D)
I'm Captain Jack Sparrow.

Taking hold of his mug and staring into Jack's face...

TOUCAN
Ya. Slurp... Gulp. Toucan here.
Captain you say. What's your ship?

Jack stares back and raises his mug taking a slow sip. He
proudly says ...

JACK
The Black Pearl.

Jack removes five gold pieces from his pocket and places
them on the table in front of Toucan.

JACK (CONT'D)
Mr. Toucan. Might these be of
interest to you?

TOUCAN
Always interested in that. Why?
You know of some for the taking?

JACK
Easiest taking of all.

Toucan examines one of the gold coins by biting it with his
dark, stained teeth. Jack flashes more gold as he hands
Jessie some to buy more drinks.

NAAAAAA .... NAAAAA ...

A BILLY GOAT

approaches and begins chewing on Jack's coat. Jack notices
and yanks his coat away from the goat. The goat stands next
to Toucan and chews his cud.

TOUCAN
It's real. Say, where'd you get
this gold anyway?

JACK
I guess you'll have to agree to my
terms to find out.

A suspicious look crosses Toucan's face.

TOUCAN
No gold worth talking about can be
got as easy as you say!

Draws his pistol and points it at Jack.

TOUCAN (CONT'D)
YOU TRYING TO PUT SOMETHIN' OVER ME?

JACK
NO NEED FOR THAT! NO! YOU'RE
CORRECT. NO GOLD'S THAT EASY.

Toucan glares at Jack as he gets up, puts his pistol in his
belt, scoops up the gold coins, takes his mug, and leaves.
The Billy Goat follows. Jack gestures a good riddance.

Now alone, Jack tips the tankard of rum to his lips and drinks
the last of it.

Older pirate voice from next table...

FLYNN
Say Son? You should be more careful
picking your friends.
