Zero comes back while Yuki was guarding for the moon dorm. Yuki then falls and is caught by Zero mistaking him with Kaname. Later on, while Yuki and Zero were guarding, Yuki started a conversation with Zero about her blood. Zero got mad at Yuki, so he started walking away. Yuki got worried so she followed him.Zero was about to talk to Yuki but stopped because the headmaster reported that Maria Kurenai had woken. She tells Zero the truth about the mastermind of the deaths of his parents who's also the enemy of the pure bloods. After they met, Yuki was asked to leave and then she jumped over the fence to the outer area of the school. Yuki then got ambushed by a vampire from the senate. Zero comes to Yuki and kills the vampire who was trying to hurt Yuki. After that vampire dies, more vampires from the vampire senate came. Then the Moon Dorm students came, asked by Kuran Kaname to get rid of the vampires from the senate. The Moon Dorm students killed one of them. Kaname asked one of them what they were doing at Cross Academy. One of the vampires answered that it was because the Vampire Council had ordered them. Kaname then badly hurt him and he told the other vampires to leave. Once they left, Kaname went over to Yuki and asked her if she was okay, and was about to touch her face, but she backed away. Yuki then told Kaname that she didn't want to be treated like a child and won't speak to him until he truly admits that Zero is innocent. Later on, Zero was about to go in the shower when he saw Yuki's towel, so he stopped. He then went to the couch, lied down, and then had a dream of Shizuka Hio with blood, which he thought he killed her.Yuki was sitting in front of Zero, drying her hair with her towel, so she was puzzled when Zero said her name. Then all of a sudden, Zero awoke, hugged Yuki, and tried to kiss her, but doesn't. Later, the chairman got a letter from the Hunter Committee in regards to Zero.Yuki had been having trouble realizing what really happened between Zero and herself, also Kaname pops in her head, she tries to shake it all off. Yori looks at her funny, wondering what's wrong, before Yuki could say anything, a little lost boy came up crying, looking for his mother. Yuki attended to the child and found herself in an abandoned hotel like mansion. The little child thanked her by a kiss on the cheek, but he was, with this action, draining Yuki's energy, she fainted and was found by the students of the moon dormitory, where they were all going to a party in the abandoned house. She woke with Kaname sitting near her, watching over her and she suddenly got surprised and got up to quickly, Kaname caught her. She thanked him and he respond with noting that she was speaking to him, more overlong that conversation, she was suppose to stay inside the room until the end of this party for the reason of all the vampires downstairs. She stayed suddenly remembering a deja vu moment, having a strange image clouding her mind, then again distracted by the young child entering to apologizes to her, noticing his strange different color eyes. He left the room and she followed, lingering in the hallway on the top floor, looking over the vampire guests. She saw Zero and again the same image of him almost kissing her came back. Kaname entered the room, with everyone bowing except Zero. Afterwards many parents were trying to ask Kaname hand to their daughters. Kaname noticed Yuki watching when she left. Zero noticed his brother and followed him. Yuki entered back in the room and sat in front of the door, hurting over knowing that Kaname can choose anyone over her. Kaname comes in asking why she left, she answers him, he goes over and hugs her, picking her up and placing her on the couch. He laid his head on her asking for a minute, feeling a little weak, she gladly accepted answering that she would do anything for him. Yuki soon remembered how they use to be so close like this, and stared to cry, telling him her thoughts without looking at him, his vampire side much filled with hunger, asked her if she would want to become a vampire to be by his side forever. Yuki wanted him to, but upon seeing her tears he mistook them for fear and told her she had nothing to worry about, and that he would never do anything like that to her. She returned to the academy to find Yori and her father. It started snowing, which reminded Yuki of the day she was saved by Kaname, for snow has always reminded her of red.The Night Class is off for holiday; Rima, Ruka, Kaname, Kain and Takuma all went to Aido's resident while Aido himself stayed behind. Senri Shiki decided to go home instead of going with everyone, and he was summoned by his mother's grandfather, a member of the Council. Meanwhile, back in the Moon dorm, Aido has a flashback of himself asking Kain to investigate Kaname's secret while away at Aido resident. Later, Aido went to the boy's dorm over at Sun Dorm (where Zero was staying), and Yuki, who had wondered towards Zero's room. The three of them decides to eat dinner at the headmaster's resident when Aido refuses to go back to his own dorm. Zero cooked enough for three, but Aido ate them all in his stress. During a short talk with Yuki, Yuki states she will be okay even if Kaname betrays her, and Aido silently agrees. Later taking a bath, Aido has a flashback of the first time meeting Kaname at his house while he was much younger. Aido, who believed himself to be perfect at the time, refused to befriend Kaname. Later, his teacher taught Kain and Aido the power of a pureblood; and the next time Kaname and Aido met was years later, when Kaname's parents had committed a suspicious suicide Aido highly doubts. Still in the kitchen making dinner for Zero and herself, Yuki drops a plate. While picking up the pieces, she cuts her finger. She tells Zero to lick it and drink her blood, a scene witnessed by Aido, who becomes troubled by it. Aido hurried back to the Moon dorm and picked up his courage to enter Kaname's study, where he saw broken chess pieces on a chess board. He realised that Kaname is plotting something.
