for hiding your friend list, you go to my gaia, then click account and then scroll down until you come to friend list and it'll say "friend list viewable to:" and then you choose whiich one.
and for your journal you go to my gaia, then you click journal, then you find this thing and it asks if you want your journal viewable to the public, friends, or no one.
