I think you're too harsh on women who file for child support. You should remember that many single mothers in the US are poor and working, and that they feel they need that money to support their kid(s). You shouldn't be blaming them since most people do not view fatherhood as paying a small bit of money every month. I agree that it should not be mandatory for either parent, but the way you speak of women who file for child support is disrespectful, and you need to remember their situation and the complex economic problems many face with their children. Many parents will sacrifice much to give their children what they need. My aunt filed for child support because she was suffering financially; she is no terrible person, she did what she felt was her motherly duty to her children, and for that, she is a wonderful mother.

I'm just appalled by the fact that people raise their kids that way. I used to get bummed out watching True Blood's opening theme, because it showed the wide toddler in his Klan robes. The fact that I'm black only exacerbates the situation. ; 3 ;
