It can be intimidating, especially since every other forum seems preoccupied with hoarding gold, not investing it.
I am still acquiring experience myself, but I've found that learning how to interpret LMP, AMP & Market graphs is the most important.
For items with spotty information, the search bar can help give you an idea of it's history; I wish I'd remembered that before picking up a Highwire Belladonna, haha.
I don't find it particularly difficult, though some bristle at the terse manner of most exchangers.
You do need to acquaint yourself with the newer items, and learn how to read the MP -- exchange threads can move too quickly for you to research each item before someone else snaps it up.
If you really want to get into exchanging, familiarize yourself with a few items that you know you can buy cheaply and sell quickly, proportionate to your starting funds.
