About
"It's about Wii. And together, Wii will change everything."I was born in the Hokkaido Prefecture of Japan. As a student, I studied at and graduated from the Tokyo Institute of Technology University, where I majored in computer science.
Shortly after graduating, I joined HAL Laboratory, Inc. and in 1983 I began coordinating the software production and development of Nintendo titles, such as the Kirby series.
By 1993, I had become president of the company. In 2000, I moved to Nintendo Co., Ltd. as the head of the Corporate Planning division, where I was responsible for Nintendo's global corporate planning.
In 2002, I was named president of Nintendo Co., Ltd. (replacing Mr. Yamauchi) where I continue to guide development of games with the passion of a game creator.

And a reminder: "We're not thinking about fighting Sony, but about how many people we can get to play games. The thing we're thinking about most is not portable systems, consoles, and so-forth, but that we want to get new people playing games."
