Tourists can sometimes be a pain...but they normally didn't come out to the side of the island that I lived in. Car rental places wouldn't cover them if they went to "THAT" side...that's how bad it was. Tourists are normally "advised" to leave certain areas alone by a friend, family or other tourists.
I lived in several places on Oahu, but most in the Waianae area. My hubby and I never want to live in Hawaii again....well, at least Oahu.

At least you have a Walmart! The nearest "big" store from us is about 30 miles away. rolleyes
We moved away from Hawaii 'cause the cost of living is WAY too much. It's so overly crowded there, and we had too much family, WAY too close to us! It was suffocating! We go back 1-2 times every 2 years. If you ever go...go during the winter!!! The summer will KILL you! Winter is still too hot for us, now that we're acclimated to WA weather! LOL :shock

I'm about 3 hours or so away from you. I only know Aberdeen 'cause we go to Ocean Shores quite often. That's the town with the only WALMART! hahahahaha

We pretty much live in farm area. It was really hard for the people here to get used to us....with our brown skin an' all. We were big news when we moved into town. LOL! After their initial shock eek they all warmed up to us. We still get a lot of stares though. stare

Snow's gone here already too. I live in Longbranch...don't know where that is? Neither does anyone else! ROFL It's in the stix across the Narrows Bridge some.
