Moonlight by Crystal(me)its a skol project ^_^ tell meh how ya like it!!(even though i alrede turned it n lol) We’re walking down the path to our first delivery of the day at Harry‘s house to deliver the milk. I get to the door before my mother and knock, and, to my surprise, a boy about my age opens it. I was so shocked that I couldn’t breathe for an instant. He had straight black hair to the corners of his mouth, beautiful pale blue eyes I could stare at all day and never get tired. But, the most beautiful thing, was his face. Oh, his face looked so delicate; as if it might shatter by the slightest touch. He had nice full lips and the cutest small nose I’ve ever seen. I hadn’t noticed that I had been staring until I heard my mother coming up behind me saying something about my fast walking. “Hello. How are you this morning?” she asked politely. “Oh I’m fine, Julia, thank you. You seem tired from your running here. Would you like to come inside?” he asked, probably noticing my mother’s heavy breathing. “That’s very kind of you. I guess we can stay a few minutes, thanks.” She started walking in the front door but stopped suddenly noticing I hadn’t moved. “Bella my dear, are you alright?” she was turned to me now, expecting an answer. I forced words out of my mouth the best I could, “Y-yes mother. I-I’m alright.” I said weakly. “Well then come on now. Don’t doddle.” She said impatiently. After that day, Bella insisted that she take the milk to Harry’s house instead. When her mother asked why, she just said it would be easier on her and running. Her mother considered it and agreed but cautioned her not to bother anyone, just to deliver the milk and be done for the day. Bella had learned from eavesdropping that the boy’s name was Edward and was thirteen like her, and his mother had disappeared when he was only four years old. While Harry was telling my mother all of that, she said to him that my father had been trampled by a horse when I was six years old. My father worked on a ranch to train horses, but one of the horses got a little too wild for him to handle one day and trampled him. It was the worst thing to happen to us, and the saddest. We had a hard time dealing with it but got it under control, and in the end my mother became the milk maid. It was a fairly easy job for anyone that could walk fast or run. But my mother doesn’t like to run around like I do, so she would gladly let me do it for her sometimes. And since I have a reason now, I don’t think I’ll be getting tired of it anytime soon. Over the next few months, we were together as much as possible. And one morning, he asked me if I would want to go on a walk with him tomorrow. My heart almost skipped a beat, and I was so happy I almost couldn’t talk. “Yes. Yes, of course I will,” I said with probably the biggest, silliest smile. His face lit up with so much excitement, it looked like he would scream. Overtime, Edward and I became the best of friends. We did everything together, but most of all we loved sitting and laughing. There is a secret we have, that if people found out we would be out casted and most likely put in the castle dungeon. Edward and I make up our own spells sometimes if we get bored or run out of things to talk about. On one outing, I was telling Edward about a spell I made up. He thought it would be a good idea if we tried to make it really work. So in the end we thought of closing our eyes and holding hands and saying the ‘magic’ words. “Take us now, from this place, so we can see the future’s face”. I giggled at the sound of the silly words. I heard a strange sound and a very strong gust of wind hit me and I opened my eyes to see Edward starring past me at some strange thing coming straight at us. I screamed and Edward pulled my hand and the next thing I knew, I was on the ground next to him watching this monster with the letters F-O-R-D on the back run away. Whatever that thing was, I don’t like it at all because it could’ve hit me and even though it didn’t, it yelled at me when passing by. I was so bewildered, I didn’t notice Edward stand. He was looking around like a lost new born. And that’s exactly what we were. Lost. We stood there for about ten minutes when I heard Edward speak. “We need to get home, Bella. We need to find a way to get home right now!” he was yelling, but not very loudly. And I knew he was right. “But, how? Edward, how?!” I yelled back loudly, and began to cry. He sat back down slowly, and was very quiet for a while. Then said, “Magic.” I looked at him as though he was crazy. “Yes. Magic that’s how we got here. And…?” he looked back at me with fire in his eyes and a small smile,”Don’t you see Bella? We got here by magic, and we can get back with magic! It’s the only way back, and I know we can do it!” I gawked at him. He was right. Absolutely right. “But…oh Edward we can’t just make up a spell and ‘poof’ we’re back! It’s not that simple!” now it was his turn to stare. “What are you talking about?! That’s how we got here, isn’t it? So that’s how we’re going to get home. You just have to think. Bella! Please just think of a spell to get us home!” “WHAT?! Why me? Why not you?” “Because Bella! If you’re the one who made the spell to get us here, then you’re the only one to make another spell and get us back. It’s that simple.” “SIMPLE?! You think this is SIMPLE? Well it might seem like that for you but all the pressure’s on me! How am I supposed to do this all on my own?” “Bella, trust me,” he said as he reached for my hands. He was still starring at her hazel eyes, and her long blonde hair was gently flowing with the light breeze. I stared back, and could only sigh and take his hands in mine. We needed to hurry. For all we know, it’s possible to get stuck here, where ever here is. He let go of one of my hands and we stood, slowly walking down this strange path, hearing unknown sounds and seeing more of those frightening monsters, but they looked different. There were many of them, but one stood out more than the others. It was long and white, with a lot of black squares on both sides, and two more black and white with red and blue lights in front and behind it, as if they were protecting it. But why would a monster be in danger? It appeared to be slowly stopping, and I held my breath as something opened, a door it seemed to be, and a man about twenty years old stepped out. How can that be? A man coming out of a door on a monster? Well, what if it’s not a monster after all? What if it’s some type of transportation on wheels? It could be, but I don’t really think that’s possible. Oh, I forgot for a moment, we aren’t in 1263 anymore. We were in an unknown time and place, that’s all we knew so far. I was too busy thinking to myself, that I barely noticed Edward stiffen, and his grasp on my hand tighten. The man from the monster was coming at us with more men and women from the other cars. Edward whispered something too low for me to hear, and all the while the man got closer to us. Now the man was about ten yards away and was going faster with a concerned look on his face. We couldn’t run, in fear they might chase after. In no time at all he was in front of us asking, “Are you okay? Why are you dressed like this? Where are your parents? Did you run away? Are you lost?” We just stared, and neither of us knew how to answer these questions without giving ourselves away. I looked at Edward, hoping he would say something. He started to, but no words came. I waited and so did the man, obviously trying his best to be patient, and finally Edward smiled. “Yes, we’re fine. Our parents are expecting us home now actually, so we should be going. Thank you for your concern,” he was still smiling, and turned to go but the man caught his arm and said, “Wait.” Edward’s eyes were fire again and his smile disappeared, as he looked the man over in his strange clothes. I could tell he thought this man and his friends were our enemy, and I wasn’t sure at all before, but if he thought they were bad people, so did I. Judging by his glare, I don’t think he believes us. The man stood with his hand still grasping Edward’s arm and said, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have barged up to you and asked questions. My name is Richard King” – he stopped glaring and smiled instead – “and I’m the creator of Nights in Shining Armor, it’s a foundation where we give kids shelter, food, and care. When I saw you I was so worried, everything came out in a rush! “Anyway, I was hoping I could persuade you both to come with me. I was heading to the building of Nights in Shining Armor for a check up on the kids, and, anyway, would you like to come?” The only word in my mind, was ‘danger’. Edward yanked his arm free of Richard’s hold, pulling my hand and turning to flee, yelling “Run, Bella!” We were going so fast, everything was a blur, and the only thing leading me was his hand. I could hear them behind us, but I didn’t dare look back. Edward pulled me to the ground by a struck down tree, hiding until the man and his friends left. It was a long while before they gave up their search, but they never looked around our hiding place. We were finely free of Richard King and his mysterious friends. We got up a few minutes after they left, and I didn’t know what to think, so, again, I looked at Edward for support. His perfect face was expressionless, but his eyes were filled to the brim with fear. Looking at him, I started to sob for the second time that day. He quickly tried to comfort me, but nothing could help the lonely, homesick feeling I had. “Edward…I want… to go…home!” I tried to say between sobs. He sighed. “Look. There’s a road, lets follow it, and I don’t know if it’ll help, but we can’t just stay here.” I nodded and controlled my sobbing. Walking down road, there was a big green sign that said “WELCOME TO KANSAS 2008!” in big, white, welcoming letters. “What’s Kansas?” We said together, which made us laugh together. “Maybe there’s something that can help us in Kansas,” I said. Neither of us wanted help from a person, after what happened earlier. It made me sick to my stomach to think about that, so I quickly thought of what would be ahead of us. Over the next few days, Edward and Bella were getting closer to finding a way home, and were also liking the future more because of the technology. One early morning, Bella woke up on the ground like the past few mornings, but she dreamed of something very strange. It was Edward and her saying a spell, but not the spell they said to get to the future, because the words were a little different. They were saying, “Take us now, from this time, so we can see the past thrive.” My eyes flew open as I searched for Edward, and when I saw him, I ran toward him screaming, “Edward! I know how we can get home!” When I reached him, he was so exited he yelled back, “What?! That’s great! What’s the new spell?” “Well I had a dream of us saying a spell that wasn’t the one that got us here, so it must be the one to get us home! We were saying, “Take us now, from this time, so we can see the past thrive.” “Well let’s try it” we held hands and closed our eyes and said the new, real magic spell. “Take us now, from this time, so we can see the past thrive.” That was the very last time we said the spell before we were home. I heard a sound again, and another gust of wind, and I opened my tear filled eyes, to see what I’ve wanted for days now. Home.
