Go ahead smile

Well, I guess I'll explain chromatic (chramatic...? not sure on spelling) since it is a scale that is fun to play and helps with coordination once you start using both hands.

The fingers used in chrom. scale are thumb, index and middle. For the right hand, start with your thumb on C. Then, go to the first black key to the right and press it with your middle. Then, press D with your thumb, and then D sharp with your middle. Next, press E with your thumb. Instead of using your middle finger for F, press it with your index finger. F sharp is pressed with your middle.

So, the rules to this are that
1- White keys (usually) get pressed by the thumb)
2- Black keys ALWAYS pressed by the middle
3- When there are two white keys next to each other (B & C or E & F) you use your index finger right after the thumb.

Hmm... Here's a Youtube video. It is a little... silly... (MY russian piano teacher didn't use the terminology in the video) but it might be better for you to get a visual.

A good starting point would be to know which note on the piano corresponds to what on the sheet music/paper. XD

But, for actual playing, I suggest playing scales. Do you know chramatic scale?

"I need some help with where to start, I already play a bit but never much beyond the odd tune! It's hard cause I don't really have a starting point and can't afford lessons at the moment, if anyone could give some tips lemme know!"

In case you never get back to your thread, I wanted to comment you directly.
First of all, can you read notes? If so, I suggest looking the sheet notes to easy songs.

If you can't... I suggest that you learn because... well, it is important xD
