Like Me
My screen name has been with me since I first started in chatrooms when I was 14. That was over a decade ago. The reason for the spelling of it has since been lost on me I think at one time it even had a "y" in it. Everyone was putting "y's" in things. It was a fad. Still, the name has remained this way for a long, long time.I tend to be anti-social, which is ironic considering...
I suppose it's just this side of my personality. I like not having a face on the internet. It's nice to know that I don't have to suffer obligated smiles and social dictum. I envy those who can be themselves in any situation. I have always felt like an amalgamation of a man. A quilted person; stitched together; Frankenstein's monster (except that even he knew what he was supposed to be, whether others saw it or not).
I write poetry. In fact I am almost exclusively confined to the OP/L. My poetry tends to be violent, angry, overly sexual, and often using teeth and mouth imagery. I imagine that men (yes, as opposed to women) share a dual passion. Sex and violence. The symptoms are near identical: elevated heart rate, tunnel vision, adrenaline, desire.
I do write other poetry as well. In fact, I've had a handful of mules to cover up the fact that I was capable of saying something that didn't involve a bloodied knuckle.
I have made this statement before, but coupled with the amalgamated me, it makes more sense now. I am both critically self-conscious and overly ego-maniacal. One half of me cowers while the other flips off the sun. I am the man that will grip a woman's neck and kiss her softly. I have a duality.
So that's who I am. It's the most information I have given away on this site since I first registered in 2006. Perhaps I have finally turned a corner in my own adjustment. But, turning 30 might force you to re-evaluate some things.
