Born to King Agares and Sarah Blight of the Kingdom of Highland, brother to Princess Julia, Prince Luca's early life of luxury was shattered when the caravan he and his parents were travelling in was ambushed by bandits. Luca and his mother were captured while Agares fled. Luca was forced to watch as the bandits raped his mother, until the intervention of the Highland General, Han Cunningham. Since then, Luca harbored a great hatred towards the City State of Jowston, after learning that it was them who hired the bandits, and towards his father for fleeing and leaving him and Sarah behind. His sister Jillia was conceived in the rape. For this reason Luca is often angry with her, but he also loves her because of her resemblance to their mother.

26 and an unparallered swordsman at the time of the game's events, Luca Blight is a man consumed. He finds great pleasure in killing and torturing anyone remotely involved with the City-States. Though he doesn't enjoy wasting his own men's lives as much, he has no qualms about sacrificing some to achieve greater ends. His bloodlust has earned him a reputation as the Mad Prince, which is a misnomer as he's fully coherent and grounded in reality - although a reality where he is the only being with any value.

Becoming the head of the Highland Military, Luca starts a war with the neighboring states by murdering a band of children, then framing the City-States. After capturing Jowston's capital, Muse, Luca has the Beast Rune - one of the 27 True Runes that inhabit the world - feed on the souls of the people of Muse, allowing the Beast Rune to awaken.

After this, Luca and Jowy Atreides (at that point known as Jowy Blight) poison and murder King Agares, making Luca himself King. However, his position was short lived as he was ambushed by the main characters army after attempting a night raid on the Dunan Unification Army and was killed in battle. Jowy and his strategist Leon Silverberg help the Dunan army by alerting them to the ambush, allow the Dunan army to get the drop on Luca. Both Jowy and Leon firmly supported Highland, but knew that Luca's rage would eventually lead to the downfall of Highland.

Luca Blight was an evil prince, whose only goal in life was destruction and murder. He was the son of King Agares Blight, ruler of Highland, but he soon disposed of his father and became king.

Luca's only desire was destruction. He pleasured himself by torching villages to the ground and murdering innocent people after they had been humiliated. Many of his followers were just as evil, but Luca was almost inhuman.

Luca possesed a strength like no other. He was unstoppable as a foe, and there were no time for negotiations. He merely destroyed all who opposed him and even some who did not. In the end it took whole armies just to take down the one man.

He met his demise when the new liberation army led by hero finally destroyed him. It took 18 people to take him down, it was no easy battle. Many soldiers died.
Luca's only soft spot appeared to be his sister Jillia, but even then he showed her little affection and treated her as badly as any other person. He was truly insane. But his reign of terror was crushed when hero fought him one on one, and he finally died. Before he died he was still insane, laughing maniacally before his life was over.
