Then I would take it. I was just there a few weeks ago, there are plenty of places that could use new employees by the looks of things. If you can afford to up and leave, I say you should. If your friend is willing to help, you might ask if they could start looking at apartments for you, maybe make a list of places you could afford and help you pick one. Also have them look for jobs you'd like/be qualified for
