Calm down IG. Don't be mad... especially over this. It's an obvious attempt to try and get me angry and I'm above that. I already know the quality of these kids and why should I be bothered if their idea of writing a story is to lack description and proper build up. Apparently, it's just not the place for me. They're beginners with no real sense of form - I just need to find an advanced group of writers who can offer responsible feed back and who ... well, lets face it, actually have the skill to write.
It's funny however, I'd written my challenge after I'd read The Broken Crown by Michelle West... if they don't like my writing, they'd hate hers and she's a well published novelist.
I'm of a half mind to write a letter to tell that girl off. She criticized on points that 1. Shard had to include into her story to meet their so called demands, 2. on elves, which if I read this right was a BACKground description of the guy and did function like that (someone with even a half brain should have got that) 3. criticized her on having too much information (gee, wait a second, didn't all the other stories HAVE too much confusing s**t running around in them.. more than they should have?) In short she was pulling s**t out of her a** to make up some excuse to "supposedly" defend the so call writing honour of her friends. Frankly, all those other stories had something terribly wrong with them and Shard's reviews were helpful not malicious.
I'm just angry. It's evident to me that they are a close knit bunch of friends who only like to vote on their own stuff. I'd like to see how they'd get on if they dared try to publish any of their stuff in the real world... the real world would say "Go back and learn to write."
