About

Hey, I'm Mary. I could honestly care less what you call me. I'm constantly changing, and never think about the same thing twice. I like to think that a person is unable to be described in a simple, small paragraph, which is why I dislike doing this. I have a strong passion for writing, and am probably too overconfident about it. I often lurk in the GD. :]. I love to talk, so comments and messages are always a good thing. Signs would be nicee[hint, hint.].

I feel bad for those people too. I feel bad about myself though because last year I was laughing at turrette jokes and stuff, but I realized that this really sweet guy (a ginger with a soul User Image so rare) has it... He's in chorus and A-Team like me and I didn't realize he had turrettes until last week when he kept stuttering as he was talking. I didn't notice it as much today but I feel bad that I made fun of the disorder last year User Image Crutch is just so sweetttt.

We don't get fights here; everyone is a lot closer in the Upper School, so I've just been able to float along, minding my own business. It's quite nice. All throughout middle school my friends and I and then the entire grade had to deal with betrayel, backstabbers, and then depression.. We actually had a girl taken away to VCU Medical Center to be treated... I was in 7th grade and she showed me them but she said she had fallen off of her bike in her driveway...I believed her because I knew her driveway was really gravely User Image

No, we don't have to wear uniforms; that's a plus about my school. I like it a lot better now that I'm in highschool. There hasn't been any drama like there had been in Middle School... Oh, what a horrible four years... This year has been great so far, probably because I'm choosing not to involve myself in anything that could turn out to be... you know... User Image

My school as a whole isn't that small; we're K-12. Each class has around 120-130 kids on average. In terms of numbers, sure, compared to other schools, we are small, but that's because we're a private school (hahah. I just used more commas than I ever have in one sentence). Most everyone in each lil segment of the school (K-4 = LowerSchool, 5-8 = MiddleSchool, 9-12 = UpperSchool) does know eachother, if only vaguely or at least recognizes eachother. To tell the truth, I actually knew almost no one in the grades above me until this year, and that's probably because of sports, GleeClub, and then Academic Team...which is amazing, by the way.

I think they do dress up; I saw some pictures from last year's concert and they looked amazing. I still reaalllyy want to go User Image I'd miss the Halloween Dance the next day at school if I could go. I'd pay for my ticket, too!

Out of 400-600 people in my high school, I have no idea how many listen to our kind of music, but I do know a few who like my kind of music. I'm not as open about it because I don't want people to go spreading it around. There's this one girl who always takes a band and ruins it because she gets so obsessed that I get fed up with it. I haven't let on how much I like Muse to her, because last time I did something like that with MCR and Panic... well, I didn't listen to them for a while...

I actually don't pay too much attention to record labels; I don't even know whose label MCR is on... And I've never seen anyone live. I could've gone to see MCR and freaking MUSE last April; I live in the area, I was finding out how much the tickets were going to cost! But nooo- I had some stupid chorus thing I couldn't get out of User Image It crushed me... And now I find out that Panic! is coming to Fairfax on Halloween! Yes, it's quite a few hours away, but I'd walk if I had to. Too bad I can't go to see that either User Image

It is quite lovely that we share the same interest in music. Most at my school listen to either rap or overplayed songs. Neither are all that appealing to me. I'm actually starting to like ?The Good Left Undone" because I hear it on y101 all the time. It was my favorite of Rise Against for ages, and now everyone's listening to it and getting it wrong...

((I, too, think I Write Sins got really overplayed. I have an acoustic version that isn't too bad though. Pas de Cheval is a good song.))

As for other bands? The other bands I go all out for would be My Chemical Romance and Rise Against, but there are bands I'd like more than them if I knew more of their songs -lazy'd- I really keep meaning to look up Yellowcard, RJA (I have Your Guardian Angel- possibly one of my favorite songs of all time), Foo Fighters I keep meaning to get off of iTunes or at B&N, and then I think Jack Johnson. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it to you, but my music range is fairly limited, and I'm eager to broaden it.

I was like that...I got used to the style. It took a month or...five. I sort of think the two styles they have on the ablums complement themselves in a way. I'm glad Brendon let Ryan do some of the singing though. Even though Ry's voice is musically technically worse, I'm ashamed to say I'm addicted to it. I listen to the alternate version of Behind the Sea so I can get the full effect of it User Image Lying Is the Most Fun is probably my favorite song on their first album. I'm not sure about their second...

I see what you mean about grouping bands together. I actually don't really bands with what people say about them or what they say back. I actually didn't know Brent had been kicked out of Panic! until a year or say after it had happened. As for them dropping the !....I found that out when I bought their second album. I get pissed off when they're grouped with Fall Out Boy. I mean, sure, Fall Out Boy isn't bad, but in my opinion, what Panic wants to do is so different than FOB, which is why I think Panic's style changed so much in Pretty.Odd_

Hey, I had a pretty big rant too User Image

Okay, I'll check those songs out ^^

It does get annoying how they're constantly compared to Radiohead, but in my opinion, Matthew's voice can sound a bit like them. And Radiohead isn't such a bad band. I like what I've heard of them (though I haven't heard much; my musical horizons are surprisingly limited)
