Adrianna-chan, Lent isn't just giving up one thing for 40 days for the hell of it. There's an actual meaning to it...

The 40 days represents the time that Jesus was in the desert preparing for his ministry. During that time, he endured temptation by Satan and refused it. It's kind of like a whole "test for the believe of God" kind of thing. You can also give up more than one thing, and have to give up meat on Fridays. But I'd figure it'd be too much for you since the "dare". lol.
