Amidst the chaos and commotion of the four races, each fighting for their lives to reign supreme, Crescend stood on a hill overlooking the town of Barton, black gloved hands holding onto two things-- his right hand--his cane, his left--the pale green hand of his fiance, golden ring catching the light of the fires surrounding them. He briefly ran his tongue over his elongated, sharpened canines and sighed, squeezing her hand as the wind whipped his ponytail and cape about like its playthings, jabot on his chest's fluttering akin to that of a dove, stepping close to Glimmerous as her lab coat did the exact same thing. Black and white, vampire and zombie, the tattered clothing mingling together as he brought her to him, pressing against her to wrap his cape around the two of them, sliding her hair back behind cold, decomposing ear.
"Our love will overcome this," He whispered, a tear beginning to form behind the elegant monocle he wore, the brooch pinned to his lapel catching the moisture as it slid from his cheek.
"We will be the last ones standing at the end of the world. I will follow you into the dark."
Against the moonlight, their stark contrast--black against the white backdrop of the Halloween moon--one could swear that they were black, black shadows on the surface of the moon low in the sky.
