Good newses Fuzzy! biggrin I'm on the way to being finished fixing my comp =) I slaved the broken drive into the working comp and coppied all of my files and stuff off of it onto the working drive. now all I'm waiting for is the adapter I need to hook up my new 500gb hard drive. =) I'm also thinking about buying a new tower so that I can attach both hard drives comfortably in their own slots.
I think I broke it while i was trying to fix it the very first time.. but I've decided what I'm gonna do to get around my problem. I'm gonna buy the adapter I need to hook up my new hard drive. And then I'm gonna slave the new hard drive into this comp or my other working comp, and then I'm gonna clone the hard drive of the working hard drive onto the new one. Then I'll slave the problem hard drive into the new hard drive and transfer my files and programs from it onto the new hard drive. And vwala a new working 'pooter! ^u^
Lol "Pooter" you and your cute words ^u^ anyhoo, I did look it up and it told me to try the disk with another comp to first see if its a problem with the disk itself or the drive. so i tried it on this comp and it didnt work, so it must be a problem with the disk. the site said that if its a problem with the disk i should remake it, which is what im attempting to do, but it doesnt seem to be working D: Whenever i click starts to try and make the MS-DOS startup disk, it stops like a second later, without saying its complete, or that something is wrong or anything. so i dunno what to do crying
Lol. Ok by system disk, I mean a MS-DOS startup disk that I just made on a floppy. I'm trying to restore the hard drive on the other comp. So basically the computer has been dissected and I've taken out the hard drive, and now the hard drive is outside of the comp, but is hooked up. and when I started the comp up, there was a message that came up that says "Disk boot failure, Insert system disk" Which would be the floppy I just made.. But I wasn't sure if I should just stick it in or if there would be other steps to follow other than "press enter" i hope that was a little clearer sweatdrop
