Sell it when the price is high, then invest that money in an item that's cheap at the time. Then wait until that item is at a good price and sell it for higher than you bought it for. EX: http://www.gaiaonline.com/marketplace/itemdetail/65835 Currently around 400k-500k, higher than average price. So I'd post it to sell now and when it goes back to 300k-400k I'd buy it back. Thus the process allowed you to make 10k-100k profit depending on what you posted it for and your luck.
Have you ever browsed the market place? When you click on an item you're interested in it goes to the item page and you can try it on or click show graphs. The graphs tell you about the pricing of the item over time. By taking advantage of the provided information you'll know what is cheap and what is expensive.
