What I have to say for myself...

Ah, what to say about me? Well, I'm Etherealsage, Ethereal Sage, to write it properly, but I prefer it not just because it originated from my email address. I'm interesting to get to know, but not all that interesting in and of myself, and I was born in L.A. in the year of '89.

I don't really make many friends in life. My list there is full of acquaintances I'm friendly with or old friends who've floated out of my life for one reason or another. Distance is the usual reason, I haven't been away for more than two years yet. One of my best friends is actually on that list there, Razzly Star. She rocks. ^_^ There are also a few friends whom I don't talk to much anymore, some because of distance, some because of other issues, whom I'll always remember. I don't really consider myself easy to know, I tend to listen more than talk, or comment more than actually contribute, but I'm also the one who does pretty much whatever is in his power to help out a friend in need, though you'll hate every second of it if you brought it on yourself. People will call me kind or good, but most of them haven't seen me at my worst, and those that have argue with me anyway because they benefit from my best. Like all people, I'm a mix of both, and I happen to be able to reach the extremes of both ends of the scale. I'm a pretty calm person, to the point that I've been told I have a sophoric effect on people, though I don't know if that's the case anymore. I also tend to look at things from a rational perspective whenever I can, and that can come off as unfeeling or uncaring, though that is almost never the case; it's a high priority of mine to see things clearly and accurately, to find truth, I suppose. I debate. If you have differing opinions from me, I will try to poke holes in your argument, and I expect you to do the same to me. It's nothing personal, I just feel that we grow and learn by being challenged and being forced to think more deeply about our opinions than simply having them. I don't necessarily expect you to change your opinion, I expect for both of us to gain a greater understanding of the subject and each other. If you cannot stand this kind of discussion, I advise you to not get involved with me beyond a casual level.

What I Love and Love to Hate:

Let's see, interests... I love books, especially the Vladimir Taltos series by Steven Brust. I haven't had the chance to read them all yet, some of the books are old and not all book stores carry them, though I got started with the some of the oldest books, funnily enough. I love a couple other series too, but I'll let your mind imagine. I've read a ton and can't remember everything I've read anyway, so I'll leave it at my favorite for right now. I love video games, I started way back with the super nintendo, which I still own and play sometimes. I'm obviously a computer geek. xd I'm not really all that into music, though I do have a few bands I like. I'll let you know as soon as I finish making them up. razz No, I'm kidding, but I'll let you know if I ever come up with a longer list. I also love Magic the Gathering. I come up with things that just go over peoples' heads. My deck building skills are proportionate to the difficulty of the matches I play though, so I tend to fall short if I don't get challenged.
