~Edan’s Art Gallery~

An art gallery folder (click above link) located at DeviantArt containing pictures of Edan and other characters from his story and world (it also has art I've made of his Gaia avy version and my friends from this site, which are not necessarily canon to him or his story). I have many works in progress (of the other character too), so expect to see updates to this collection. However, they probably will take forever and a day to get posted, so don’t hold you’re breath. xD

~Profile~

-Name: Edan Ashédah
(Pronounced: EEd'n. Don’t over enunciate his first name, like if saying “Dan”, instead say it more fluidly, almost (but not entirely) skipping the “A”. As for his last name, Ah-shay-dah, soft tones, not over emphasizing the first “A”)

-Species: Incubus/Vampire (besides his true form, he can also appear in Human or Elf form)
-Apparent Age: 20-25
-DoB: Unknown (the date he was born has little meaning in the various worlds he's traveled to)
-Birth Place: Unknown (the land of his birth likely no longer exists, or is unrecognizable at least)
-Sex: Male
-Eye Color: Scarlet Red (appears Dark Gray/Black when in human form)
-Hair Color: Platinum Blond (He changes the style sometimes, but it’s usually no longer then shoulder length)
-Skin Tone: Fair (warm undertones)
-Height: 5’9”
-Weight: 134 Ibs. (not including tail and wings)
-Build: Lean and slender frame, with nice subtle curves.
-Dominant Hand: Left (though he’s somewhat ambidextrous, he always writes with his left hand)
-Voice: His voice has a soft and gentle tone, but there is strength in it. There's a faint accent from the land of his birth, though it has diminished considerably over the years to the point most don't notice it (think vaguely European).

-Scar(s): None (his physical body does not scar)
-Piercing(s): Both ears. Usually wears two small Dark Silver Studs in each ear, though he tends to wear a variety of earrings and ear-cuffs, with or without precious stones. He favors silver jewelry over gold. He also has a bellybutton piercing, but he doesn't always wear something in it.
-Tattoo/Marking(s): A set of two nearly horizontal dash-like stripes on either side of his face, running from his jaw across part of his cheeks (The top stripes are slightly longer then the bottoms. They are not black, but a darker shade of his skin). He also has a pair of Incubus Wings on his shoulder-blades and lower back.
(They are not black either, but darker then the markings on his face. When he wants to manifest his wings, the tattoo-like markings glow bright red and his wings spill out as wings of crimson light, taking form as the glow diminishes his wings appear, which are the same color as his skin. The opposite happens when he chooses to hide them again. His wings, like his horns and tail, are extensions of his true spirit form, which he can manifest into physical form or hide them from sight with his powers. In a sense he always has them, but like the soul or other spirit creatures are not something most people can simply see or touch under normal circumstances.)
-Other Attributes: (most of these are only apparent in his true form) Long pointed ears, small slick black horns, black slightly claw-like nails, slitted or oval pupils, and fangs akin to a vampires, though smaller (most people don't even notice them).

-Mother: Lucretiah Ashédah (Vampire)
-Father: Jarron (Incubus)
-Sibling(s): None
-Marital Status: Single
-Children: None
-Close Friend(s): Akira (deceased), Daichi (deceased), Samarah Andante(status and whereabouts are unknown), Jessalynn Ushenya, Ashiva Rashjasamay, Haseo, and others whose names will remain undisclosed.

-Occupation(s): Wanderer, Bounty Hunter (Typically people hire him to kill dangerous beasts, exterminate evil spirits, or clear out monster nests, but he also takes odd jobs that don't require combat).
-Current Residence: None (He’s always on the move, and currently doesn't own any property. There are places which he stays for longer periods of time though. Either way, one can often find him held up at the local Inn, or sometimes at a friends shop or residence. He has good relations with many merchants and innkeepers of the settlements he frequents, and usually receives a discount when he's in need of a place to stay. Some people even allow for him to stay free of charge, as he tends to make himself useful, and he always repays his debts.)
-Job Class: Ninja, Archer, Necromancer/Summoner (Additionally, although hardly a true Mage, he is capable of using elemental magic, and is able to cast moderately powerful spells).
-Fighting Style(s):
---Advanced Archery: Not yet being accustom to the new laws and limitations of Erinn, this new world he'd been brought to, Edan decided it was best to learn what he could from the people that called this land home. The elves were very adept at surviving the harsh conditions in their desert homeland, and in addition to general knowledge of the land, they were also strong warriors and hunters. Masters of Archery, they were called. Edan, though already proficient with a bow, learned much from the elves he trained under. Over time he grew to love the art more then he did before, learning to combine his own combat style and knowledge with that of the Elves, and becoming a master of ranged combat.
---Ryuu Akkijutsu: A mixed martial art Edan formed into a new and unique style by combining and modifying other fighting styles he learned from his mother and Daichi, his mentor. However, since having lost much of his former abilities and not being able to tap into his full power, many of the special techniques have been rendered impossible for him to perform.

-Weapon(s):
---Recurve Bow: Typically Edan carries a sturdy mid range Recurve Bow, but he also uses traditional longbows and special bows he's found or crafted from the worlds he's visited.
---Elven Short Bow: A specialized short ranged bow with metal laid into its limbs.
---Atreikon Blade: (literally meaning: “Dark Soul Blade”) A mystical black bladed sword entrusted to Edan long ago in his past life. The slender katana like weapon has dark powers that give it's master unique abilities, regardless of race. However, Edan rarely ever draws it (Edan lost this sword upon arriving in Erinn, and doesn't yet know if he can ever get it back).
-Armor:
---Enchanted Black Leather: Enchanted armor he received from an old friend long ago. These black leathers do not wear out with use or over time, are flexible enough to move in easily, but tough enough to repel the sharpest of blades (also lost when he came to Erinn). He also has a variety of clothing he enjoys wearing when he's not busy adventuring.
-Accessories:
---Incubus Pendent: A silver necklace with a blood red jewel gracing its center. Edan inherited it from his father. This pendent is of demonic origin, passed down through the ages, and possess magical attributes. It is also soul-bound to Edan, making it the only item from the world of his birth that can pass between worlds with him, even when others cannot.
---Mystic Crystal: A dark magical crystal of sorts said to ward off harmful spirits or ghostlike creatures with ill intent .
---Leather Collar: A silver studded black leather choker he usually wears (It's similar to one his mother once gave him). He enjoys wearing other jewelery sets too.
-Other Items:
---Leather Satchel: Small leather pouch for holding currency and items (He may carry other packs for longer journeys, or depending whether or not he has access to a mount of some kind).
---Small Knife: A small hunting knife commonly used by travelers or hunters. Has various uses (He still carries a combat dagger as well).
---Journal: A slightly worn black leather book for writing in. It has a belt and buckle attached to its cover to hold it shut while stored in his bag.

-Likes: Hot tea, coffee, red wine, other various fine liquors, winter, rainy or snowy days (or even just cloudy and overcast), nighttime, training in the cool of the morning air, traveling, scenery, nature, fire places, creativity and fine arts, music (nothing very loud or boisterous) reading, learning, seeing new things and meeting new people, friendly or nice people (NOTE: He wasn't always so outgoing, but his time in Erinn has allowed him to be more open about himself and what he is, and he finds it much easier to get along with others when he's not having to hide in the shadows and ducking and dodging questions about himself), female company and women in general, making Ashiva blush/smile, being playful with Jessalynn, learning to enjoy his new life and what it offers, generally spending time with the ones he cares about.
-Dislikes: Bitter or overly sweet drinks, extremely hot weather (though he doesn't mind sunshine in general per se, he's not exactly a fan either), feeling ill or tired (because there's only one remedy for it, and it's not always a convenient trek), liars, betrayal, needless or pointless violence, unjustified hate, arguing in anger (its pointless, and arguments can be made without tempers needing to flare), crude language (he won't snap at anyone else for using it, only he himself prefers not to), obnoxious and rude or otherwise annoying people, when people call him Ed or Dan, when others insult or make fowl jokes about or towards his friends (especially his female friends, he gets very defensive), remembering the past, using his powers on people he knows or likes, death and those that justify it as a natural process or as if it’s needed to appreciate life.
-Hobby(s): Handcrafting, Tailoring, Weaving, Metalworking (though he's still learning the latter)
-Skill(s): Hand-to-hand combat, swordsmanship, archery, equestrianism, metallurgy, stealth, seduction, observation and so on...
-Fears: What he might one day become, and that he’s doomed to always lose everyone he cares about while he lives on indefinitely.
-Aspirations: Not allowing what he is determine who he is.
-Special Ability(s): (NOTE: Some of these are dulled when he becomes weakened or low on energy) Can sense a persons state of consciousness (can't fake being asleep when he's around), enhanced physical senses, enhanced speed, agility and physical strength, enhanced healing abilities, night vision, can sense and often see spirits or invisible beings (he cannot always see them in Erinn however, since many creatures have the ability to cloak themselves from those with extra sensory perception), can take the form of a human or elf (he lost some of his shape-shifting abilities for a time, though he’s slowly regaining them, and currently is also able to alter his eye and hair color, however he usually does not unless required for a task or missions), able to charm people with his incubus powers (especially has power over female creatures of most races), also can enter and even control a persons dreams, and can drain a females life energy through any sexual act (NOTE: Some species of Incubi or Succubi can drain any persons life energy, regardless or race or gender. However, Edan cannot).

~Personality~

To many, upon meeting Edan he seems rather mysterious and quiet, and even with his sincere eyes most people find him difficult to read. Normally wearing a thoughtful or gentle, if not somewhat equivocal, expression. Despite this, however, one quickly learns he can be very sassy and playful, and is usually quick to play along with others silly behavior, provided it's not rude or cruel to anyone. He's also much more vocal when around his friends, and also has a lovely singing voice which he puts to good use around camp fires. Kind and quick to aid strangers, friendly and at times very flirtatious, he usually brings smiles to those who've met him. He enjoys telling stories, but enjoys hearing them even more, is always willing to listen, and eager to learn. He is usually very polite and respectful of others, and comes across as a very trustworthy person. Which he is. Edan has many endearing and noble qualities, which when combined with his honest and calm demeanor tends to have a calming effect on those around him. In general, he's a thoughtful and happy person. Still, he harbors his own demons, as he struggles each day against his instinctual nature. He has a strong will, and thanks to his upbringing and mental training is able to keep his composer, though remains constantly wary of himself. He’s observant, calm and slow to anger, thinks things through before speaking (usually), but has a fierce and unrelenting spirit, and is very protective of his close friends. Make no mistakes though, Edan shows no mercy to his enemies, or those who threaten the innocent. There is much about himself he doesn't talk about, and despite being friendly and caring about the people he's met, he's still a rather private person. In truth, it can be a challenge getting to know him on a personal level. Many people, even those who call him friend, know very little about him or his past. That said, he is a truly loyal friend, and willing to do whatever is necessary for those that are close to his heart.

~History~

Once upon a time… two demons fell in love. One, a wandering soul, an Incubus whom was shun by society… the other, a beautiful female Vampire from an aristocratic and sheltered life. The Incubus longed for a place in the world away from the emptiness that eroded his heart, while the Vampire wished for freedom from the chains of her lonely existence. In the minds of most people they were both unwelcome in the human world. When they met, they found their longings and desires in each-other. The Incubus showed the Vampire freedom, a life outside her self made prison, a life alongside him … while the Vampire showed the Incubus how to love and trust again, and with her he’d finally found a home. The Incubus had found his place in the world, and it was with his lover, Lucretiah, the Vampire with a heart… while Lucretiah had found a soul-mate to share her love with in Jarron, the gentle Incubus nomad. Finally… they were content and happy with life.

Some time passed bye, and soon a child was born, half Incubus half Vampire… the first of his kind. And he was given the name… Edan. He was a cherished and unexpected gift, for it was thought impossible for a Vampire and an Incubus to have children, yet one had been given them. Sadly, this gift came at a heavy price, as Jarron died in childbirth, leaving Lucretiah to mourn her husband and raise their son without him. She raised Edan well, as he learned many things under his mothers’ guidance and loving care, and she never let him forget his father. Edan so often reminded Lucretiah of her dear Jarron, whom Edan very much resembled. In a way she felt Jarron was living on in Edan, and she hoped that in the stories she would tell him Jarron’s memory would never die.

Years went by, and when Edan was about 14 years of age, he was given his fathers heirloom, a silver necklace with a blood red jewel gracing its center, a symbol of his heritage, and a constant reminder of his fathers sacrifice. Lucretiah told Edan many things about Jarron that day, some things he knew, some things he’d never heard before, and he eventually felt like he knew his father in some way through his mother’s stories. He was able to understand that his father had loved him just as much as his mother does, and though it saddened him they could never meet, he also felt happy in the knowledge his father truly cared about him, enough to give his own life in order to bring Edan into the world. It was also through Lucretiah that Edan learned to cherish life, and the lives of others. Though she herself was a vampire, she was raised by humans, and she understood that blood was life, and respecting innocent blood was something honorable. He also learned the art of Ryuken from his mother, which had been passed down through the generations of her clan, this demonic fighting style beautifully blended swordplay and martial arts together… though it mattered little, as he could not fight against the foe that took his mothers life… hatred…

On one cloudy night, a mass of people caused a riot that had started from a small group who hated demons. Yes, hated for simply being born what she was, needless and misplaced hate toward such a kind soul… how tragic it was. They burned Edan’s home to the ground, killing his entire family… including Lucretiah. As luck would have it, Edan happened to be out for a walk that same night, as he often enjoyed wondering within the forest that stretched for miles behind their homes estate. Upon returning home he found nothing but desolation, and the haunting spirits of the dead looming around the burnt ashes. The sight drove him to his knees, and he wept bitterly for hours in the cold winter night, not leaving that spot until people came searching for survivors the next morning.

Stricken with grief, he wondered aimlessly, a homeless child whom no one would dare help because of what he was… until a certain man named Daichi found him. Edan was starved and dirty, and his once bright youthful eyes were scared with sorrow. Taking pity on the poor demon child, Daichi, a human man, took the youth in. A long time passed before Edan returned to anywhere near his usual self, but Daichi was kind and patient, and never pushed Edan. It was just the sort of gentle nurturing he needed at the time. Later, Daichi realized the potential in Edan, likely due to his mothers previous training, and so he too began training Edan in the art of Ninjutsu and all its disciplines, of which he eventually mastered while going on missions for his master. The tasks and journeys Edan embarked on served him well, as they provided him experience in the real world and battles while still undergoing training. Daichi became something like a grandfather to Edan, and they both shared deep affections for the other, becoming more then just master and appendence… they were family.

A long while passed by and Edan became an impressive worrier, becoming a master himself, he was recognized as Daichi’s successor. Daichi though, never intended for Edan to take his place, and later sent him to a Spirit Master to study Necromancy, as Edan had shown a natural talent for such things, probably because of his Incubus blood. He then met Akira, a beautiful demon woman and practitioner of Spirit Summoning. The two didn’t get along very well at first, since Akira didn’t much care for Incubi, but a mutual respect soon developed between the two, and they managed to form a strong friendship over time. He learned quickly under her tutelage, mastering yet another skill, and gaining another close friend and comrade.

After Edan’s training was completed, he and Akira both left together to go see Daichi… only to discover he’d fallen ill in his old age and died peacefully some time after Edan had left. Daichi had apparently requested that no one was to send word, knowing Edan would one day return on his own, he didn’t wish to burden him with the news of his death while he had other things he needed to do… that was Daichi for you. Edan had lost another family member, and though he mourned for his former master and friend, he was comforted in the thought that he died in peace, with no fear or pain to haunt his memory… so very unlike before when he’d lost his mother, who had met such a violent end. For Daichi, his time had simply come.

He and Akira left, and Edan became a teacher at Akira’s school, teaching both Necromancy and a modified form of Ninjutsu he’d developed by combining the skills both his mother and Daichi had taught him. He called this new art… Ryuu Akkijutsu. He also developed a reputation in his practices from his skills in the dark arts and prowess in Ryuu Akkijutsu, and also from the time in which he traveled going on various quests for Daichi. He’d managed to make quite a name for himself without really intending to do so.

Years passed, and it was some time later that Edan and Akira were contacted by a wise man who told them of a mystical demon sword which held incredible power. The man went on to explain that he’d had a vision, and an evil demon lord wished to take the swords power for himself. The two were given the reasonability of stopping the demon, and protecting the sword from those who would exploit its power. Ironically, the demon lord whom they were protecting the sword from could not even wield it when the time came, though Edan somehow managed too, and ended up defeating the demon lord with the very sword it had sought after. Tragically though, Akira was mortally wounded by the demon before Edan was able to defeat him. Edan cursed himself for not being able to save her… Akira, the last person of whom he cared for in the world… was gone.

In a last ditch attempt to save her, Edan beseeched the now awake spirit of the fabled sword, the Atreikon Blade, and asked that it save his friend, Akira. The sword’s spirit told Edan her body was dead, and her soul had no where to go back to. But the legends about the Atreikon Blade were all true… it was said, once it’s been awakened it could capture a powerful spirit to house inside itself so as to enhance its power, but it could only hold one at any given time. It was in this way that Akira’s soul became trapped within the legendary sword, and she became the Dark Summon Spirit of the Atreikon Blade, forever bound to its will and the will of its master. Fortunately for her, Edan was now the master of the sword and all its powers. Aware, and alive, Akira could feel the outside world, even speak to Edan on occasion, and she could now aid Edan and the sword Spirit in battle… but never could they be together, never could they touch, never could she live again as she once did, for only true death would free her soul from being tied down to the mighty weapon. And Edan… he grew to hate himself for placing this fate upon her; it was out of a selfish desire to keep her alive because he didn’t want to lose anyone else that he’d done this, and he later realized it was wrong to do so. Akira though, never blamed Edan, in some ways this state of being was a curse, but it was also a blessing. She was thankful to him for what he did, at the very least it meant she could be at his side in some way, and lend her strength to him should he ever need it. And for her… that was enough.

Over a short time however, Akira’s voice grew faint, and her mind hazy, as she became lost in the void of darkness she shared with the sword Spirit. The sword told Edan this was inevitable, and that all souls bound to the Atreikon Blade eventually lose most of themselves. But Akira’s spirit never became corrupt, her love for Edan and for the world was to strong, and though she did indeed lose much of herself, her true essence proved steadfast, beautiful and just. So she became a sort of guardian spirit to Edan… and such would she remain for the extent of her existence.

Edan was once again alone in the world, and he still hated the choices he’d made, the choices that had somehow led him here, and left his only friend little more then an empty shell of a person. Driven by shame and the loss of everyone he held dear, he left the school and everything he knew behind, and resorted to the life of a wonderer, like his father before him, still holding true to his oath never to take innocent blood.

With the legends of the past subsiding and the echoes of memories from long ago still haunting him, he walked the earth in darkness for an untold amount of time, a shadow of his former self.

Seasons passed, from warm to cold, from dark to light, and years became decades that grew into centuries… and all the world changed and was made anew, flowing all around him, it breathed and moved while he watched out of sight, as though he were standing still inside a bubble. The humans’ numbers continued to grow exponentially during this time, a very dark era in which demons were hunted down and killed like never before, and even Edan was driven into hiding, unable to stop the onslaught that stretched over the entire planet. They, human kind, managed to take full dominion over the new world that was being created, it became their world. Over the time in which humans enjoyed their prosperity and dominance over all living things, they surpassed a level of advancement that Edan could have never imagined was possible in what felt like a rather short amount time. While his kind, who were called demon and evil by the likes of men, had become fractured and scattered across the globe, forced into hiding as their numbers grew scarce. They became dormant, living in the shadows of this new and overwhelmingly massive society, and eventually they became nothing more then fairy tails and myth.

Edan, a creature from an ancient and forgotten time, the unchanged one, he had no place in this modern era, and yet he was stuck in it nonetheless.

For the most part, Edan had managed to scrape out a life for himself that worked for him, a life that was as lonely as it was difficult. He was a demon disguised in human form, hiding in plain sight amongst the masses, which actually was nothing new for him, but it wasn’t as easy to do as it once was. Humans had gained so much power, and now covered almost every part of the world, there was no where left to hide, and no escape if you were found out. Additionally, there were still powerful groups of humans that hunted demons, these bands of men and women were simply called The Hunters. Edan too had to be very cautious, never knowing who might be a member of this group. He considered himself more fortunate then some, however, some who didn’t even have the option of living a somewhat peaceful or remotely normal life. For those that could not alter their true form, their lives were truly despairing and lonely beyond words. It wasn’t so supposing that many actually did turn into the monsters that humans believed them to be from the start, they were basically driven to insanity, and had become something warped and unfamiliar from what they once were… they really had become the very definition of a demon. It saddened Edan to think of them, those lost and tortured souls, and to think if he wasn’t able to change his appearance and had been forced to live their lives… would he too have become a monster? A frightening question, one he was plagued with every day he had to live in this place, this city surrounded by the people that were responsible for the state in which his people were in.

But in reality, they weren’t the ones responsible at all, not any more. No, those people had died off and been lost in histories pages. These people, their decedents, in actuality they had nothing to do with everything that had come before them, and Edan knew he could not hold all humans today accountable for the acts of their ancestors. There was no longer anyone to blame, and no one to fight… though fight they did, as not all demons felt the same way as Edan did, they still held humans responsible, and hated them. It was in this modern day and age that an underground war, resurrected from long ago, was being waged, between humans and demons… The War of Shadows. It was a conflict Edan wished he could take no part in, because he honestly didn’t want to join either side. The only thing he’d ever truly wished for was peace, between all races of the world, because it was this pointless hatred between them that had killed his family, destroyed the world he once knew, and was now threatening to destroy this world as well, and all those in it. He had never been so conflicted, because in truth, he cared for both his own people and for humans… or at least, certain ones.

Her name was Samarah, and because of their meeting… the world would never be the same. She was supposed to be like all the others, left with only the vague recollection that something happened, and that blurry memory of a beautiful white haired figure, a man, that came to her as if in a dream that felt all to real. But she had somehow remembered too much, and Edan could not hide what he was from her. She was not like most young human women, she had a secret, she was living a double life just as he was, and once they met, Edan found it difficult to stay away from her. It was the beginning of a strange and complicated relationship, a confusing yet beautiful friendship and romance.

They spent a great deal of time together, learning much about the other, and learning to trust again, in each other, in themselves, and in others. It was only later that Edan realized how much both their lives had changed, just by knowing one another. Edan had become close to not only Samarah, but her friends as well, and Samarah had come to know others like Edan, demons and mysterious creatures from the old world, who as it turned out were not all bad, if fact many were a lot like humans, and she swore some were better and kinder individuals then most other people she knew. It was proof, real proof that even now a peace could exist between the races, that they could find a mutual understanding between each other, even forge friendships... but could it be true for the rest of the world? That was the real question; one Edan feared he already knew the answer to. Samarah was an amazing and strong willed person, one that was able to see people for who they truly were on the inside, and not just what species they were born as, but the same couldn’t be said for all people, human or otherwise. This war, however pointless, had become an entity in and of itself, sucking people in and holding them tight, and it was far too powerful for a few individuals with open minds to stop… but then, it had to start somewhere.

Edan, Samarah, and a small group of others started a movement of their own, one that hoped to end the fighting and bloodshed, to bring those lost souls back into the light, and unite everyone in peace. Such an endeavor was not to be taken lightly, and Edan was also afraid that it might not be possible to accomplish their goals without spilling even more blood, thus negating the whole point. It was… a delicate and complicated matter, and it the end, his group simply could not hold back the floodgates on their own. There were others that joined them, humans and demons that believed in their cause, or had seen the truth for whatever reason… but it was never enough, and the war just continued on. However, as it turned out, there was something else pulling the strings behind the war, an unseen entity that was feeding on all the hate and violence and death. A powerful spirit creature, known as Alakon, had been carefully manipulating events to serve its own purpose. Unfortunately, by the time Edan and the others discovered its existence it was too late, it had become to powerful to stop, and even ending the war would not save them now. It seemed as if the world would be swallowed up in darkness, and life as they knew it would end.

Edan found himself once again fighting to save the world, but this time, the stakes were even higher… and there came a point he knew, he realized a sacrifice would have to be made to bring an end to all the pain and suffering caused by this evil presence.

“I realize what has to be done, I know there is only one way to stop this being, Alakon, who is more like me then it realizes… for I too am actually a spirit being, a ghostly creature merely inhabiting a vessel of flesh and blood that is a reflection my true self. Being able to exist on that same level is how I will defeat it. Father… our kind, your son, as it turns out… is the only savor for this world; we are no longer a curse upon this land. I wish you could know that, I hope that you do. Now, just as you once did for me… it’s my turn to give my life for something I care about. I’ll do my best to live up to what I was taught, by mother, and Daichi, and everyone who’s given me reason to keep believing in people, and to keep believing in myself. Heh, that wasn’t always easy. It’s really because of all of you, my friends and family, that this is possible… and I pray, no, I promise my sacrifice as well as yours… will not be in vain.”

And so it was that Edan and his comrades went to face this terrible evil. There, they were met with many obstacles, they fought, many died, but Edan, Samarah and a few others made it to the one place they could call forth Alakon to appear before them, though there was only one person who could face it in it’s realm, and so Edan put his plan into motion, knowing that if he failed there was no one else who could stop Alakon. He took the Atreikon Blade and hurled it into his own chest, its powers flowing into him, and in a burst of all consuming light… he vanished, and was replaced with that of Akira, her soul made flesh again by way of Edan sacrificing his own body. But he was not dead… he was transformed into his purest form, as he transcended into the spirit world, to do battle with Alakon. Though they did not exist entirely in the physical realm, they were visible to those around them, and Edan, in his truest from… Samarah thought he was indescribable, how beautiful and terrifying he was. However, Edan himself knew he was no match for the strength of this evil being; all he hoped to do was weaken it enough so that Akira could wield the Atreikon Blade, the only weapon in existence that could possibly be used against Alakon, and use it to deal the final blow.

All everyone else could do, was watch, and pray.

In the final moments of his life, Edan saw as Akira took up the sword she was still bound to, and for the last time accomplish Edan’s will, and the will of all those who fought and gave their lives… to save everything they know and love. In a spectacular and awe inspiring rush of power and dark light that enveloped them and seemed to go on forever into the night, the impact destroyed all that Alakon was, his very essence obliterated into nothingness by the combined powers of Atreikon, Akira, and Edan.

As Samarah raised her eyes towards the heavens, she watched as the darkness parted, and light spilled forth onto the lands bellow, and from this light fell the sword that slew Alakon, and it struck the ground blade first… Akira, nor Edan, was anyone to be seen. But Samarah already knew what happened, and she knew what she had to do, what Edan had entrusted her to do.

Samarah became the guardian of the Atreikon blade, vowing to keep it forever safe from those that would wish to exploit its power. She also became the co-leader of a new nation that spawned from their once small group of followers, a nation of humans and demons, living together in peace. Edan himself became a legend, a hero the world would never forget, praised by all those who were thankful for his sacrifice. He’d given up everything to save a world that never wanted him or his kind in it, because he believed in people, all people, that they had the potential for good and kindness, to become more then what they were… to be the best of themselves. Truly, it was the beginning of a new age for the world, an age of hope and change for the better, for all races. It would take a long time for the world to heal, and for people adjust and to come to a true understanding of one another and change their ways… but Edan’s vision was becoming a reality, and Samarah only wished he were alive to see it.

But unbeknownst to everyone, Edan’s soul had not simply died or disappeared, he was very much alive, and a glimmer of light was on the horizon, a light that would change him and his life… forever.
