Skull

Skull is the holder of the Cloud Pacifier. Head of the Combat forces for the Calcassa Family, Skull wears a full leather outfit and a motorcycle helmet, which is copied by all his subordinates. His Animal is a giant armored octopus whose tentacles follow his hand and finger's movements. He is implied to be not as powerful an infant as Reborn and Colonnello, whom he calls his senpai's, and is looked down upon and ridiculed by the two. Reborn considers Skull as an errand boy and Skull, to his dismay, does not deny the fact that the only person he was an errand boy for was Reborn. He is said to have died in the Future, with the rest of the Arcobaleno. He is voiced by Tetsuya Yanagihara in the anime. Skull's special Ability is called Armored Muscled Body. When Skull uses this Ability, he becomes very muscular and impervious to pain or damage. His Trial is Charisma.



Kurogane
Age: around 25

Kurogane is the son of the lord of the Suwa Province and the miko who protects the area with a magical barrier. He trains under his father in swordsmanship, wishes to become stronger so he can protect those he loves, and he cares for his mother, who has tuberculosis. Eventually, Fei Wong Reed floods the area with demons, which leads to the death of his father, and Reed personally kills Kurogane's mother through a dimensional portal. Kurogane goes into a rage, killing all of the demons while grasping his mother's body, and he is only calmed by Tomoyo. He eventually becomes a personal retainer for Tomoyo, but his ideals change from protecting those he loves to just gaining strength and finding his mother's killer. He eventually learns that the whole attack is part of Reed's plan to make him a pawn, but interference from Yuko causes Tomoyo to reach him first. Before leaving Nihon, he asks that Tomoyo blesses him with his real name, You-oh. The anime presents Kurogane with another name used only in his childhood, Haganemaru.

Gray Fullbuster

Gray has a laid back personality, but he will often get serious when the time calls for it. He and Natsu have a (sort-of) friendly rivalry, and while they can often be seen fighting one another verbally or physically, they are actually concerned about each other. Lucy believes that they constantly bicker because of the opposing elements that they use in magic. Gray was quite obstinate and reckless when he was younger. Overtime, he has attained a more cautious attitude towards life and deals with problems carefully. He is really concerned about his comrades and is truly loyal towards the guild. Gray tends to trash talk every now and then, and often has the last sentence at the end of every chapter in the manga.

Monkey D. Luffy

Luffy is a carefree character with great ambitions and a huge appetite. He often thinks with his stomach and eats to the point of becoming comically fat. He is caring and generally good hearted. However, he is not naïve and understands most situations more than he shows. He was inspired to become a pirate by his friend "Red-Haired" Shanks who entrusted him with his strawhat, which he holds as one of his most precious objects. Knowing the dangers ahead, he is willing to risk his life to reach his goal, and protect his crew.
He invites several people, such as Chopper or Brook, onto his crew generally for their personality but also because of his instinctual ability to be able to read people. His main reason has been stated a few times in the story. He needs several key jobs filled in his crew (i.e.: cook, navigator, doctor, musician, shipwright, and so on). Only one member of the crew invited herself on, Nico Robin. She actually has no place on the ship, having no true abilities that Luffy requires. She is just a historian who Luffy accepted. Luffy stated in the beginning of the series that he wants about ten crew members, each with abilities that he feels necessary for his goal. He is rarely concerned with the consequences of his actions, doing what he feels even if it leads to retaliation by a powerful force.However, he is an extremely loyal captain, who has demonstrated at many points throughout the series that he is willing to risk his life for the well-being of his crew.
