haha yeps! the only thing you can prove by example is disproving something. so if a statement says that there is no even number that when multiplied by an odd makes an even you can quote 2x3=6, 6 is divisible by 2 thus is even.
proof by induction just requires the statement to be true for a starting value, a general value bigger than your starting value and one bigger than your general value so n=1, n=k, n=k+1. Its actually quite a cool way of doing it. but yeh once brought down to the axiums (undeniable building blocks of maths) it cant go any further down
higher paid, but at the moment in lower demand what with all the finance jobs going with companies trying to save money.
Justification is always important, bringing it down to the level of geometric or algebraic axioms. I enjoy that sorta thing, maths but not knowing WHY is just silly.
haha yeh, i can pick up the reading and listening of a language but i am never able to speak or write in it. Useful but unhelpful.
Maths, i have always been very interested in and i find the course is just the same as what i did in 6th form but with more proofs rather than them just showing you how you do a question. but then again i dont know about others because i did the IB which seems much more like university style maths than A-levels were...
my guess with that quote would be Horace or possibly a tragedy play of some sort. I did it for 10 years and thoroughly enjoyed it, but it wasn't till the last 4 years of it I was doing proper Latin from the times rather than stuff written for students to learn from. I loved studying love poetry and Ovid in general. But now I have set myself into Maths at uni in Bath, so now all i have is my old books so i am losing my edge...
That would have to be a really hard question. Yuki is silent but awesome, Mikuru is bouncy and cute, Haruhi is a GOD, Kyon is the Reasoning, itsuki hes ALWAYS HAPPY!!!
I guess Mikuru, her personality is something you could never turn down, always so innocent.
