Status on SeaSquall's Banning
On September 15, 2006 my main account (SeaSquall) and my mules accounts (SquallsShadow, DjSquall, EltonSquall) were permanently banned from gaia for:
*Violation of 10.3 of the Gaia TOS, as respecting the use of automated scripts ("botting." wink
I (and only I) know that the banning was not justified; I did not do anything on Gaia in any automated fashion. Rather, I simply and methodically ran my threads (polling, chatting) and nifty guild the in a way that maximized gold earning.
I would be lieing if I said that I was not pissed... "[******** A!! I spent every waking moment spinning my polls and bumping on this ******** site!!! How dare they!" Well, that was the way I felt, but I rapidly realized that such an attitude would do nothing to help me out in my situation. What I needed to do was to follow the directions in the [******** email and wait for a chance to plead my case.
The following is a diary of events so that people interested in my banning can know (from the horses mouth) what is going on and how things are progressing. For those of you who have sympathetically come to my aid, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!! In particular, my love, thesilvermist has created a discussion thread for my old and many new friends to voice their support or for those who don't know me to see if they care to help.

09/15/06: Sent site feed back form. I received an automated reply that same day. What I sent is here
09/15/06: Created my DeadSquall account to allow me to contact my friends and let them know what happened.
09/16/06: TheSilverMist created a discussion thread at the prompting of concerned friends who thought it would be helpful.
09/16/06: At the prompting of friends I contacted a Chatterbox moderator to discuss my banning. The moderator informed me that my best bet was to contact an omnimoderator to see what could be done (if anything) to reverse my banning. This conversation consisted of a small hand full of PM exchanged over an hours time.
09/16/06: PM'd the omnimoderator recommended to my by the Chatterbox moderator. My PM consisted of:

My main account and mules were recently banned for botting (this happened yesterday). Are you the right person to discuss this with? I asked a moderator, [nameremoved], in the Chatterbox forum and she kindly referred me to you. If you need to see the PM its in my Inbox. Can you please tell me what if anything I can do about my banning? I do not fully understand why I got banned and if there is anything I can do to prove that I never have botted on gaia. Me and my mate have played on gaia since 2004 and this is the first real trouble I've run in to.
As SeaSquall (and his mules) I've been sponsoring changing poll threads since the beginning of the summer and I'm guessing this is what has gotten me into trouble. I've seen so many other people do this, I can't believe that that is really a good reason for being banned, so that is why I'm asking you.

09/19/06: Omnimoderator replied to my PM. The gist of the PM was (all true) an explanation of what behavior I was doing that triggered my banning. In particular, I had "all the accounts fed into one main, and your accounts were displaying abnormally high refresh or posting behavior". This is the reason for my banning as these behaviors are considered "one of the signs of botting".

09/21/06: Wrote and mailed description of my activities on gaia to the omni moderator.
09/26/06: Received reply from omni mod and sent back my response. The exchange was providing some additional information tied to my original PM.
For those who are interested... I'm out of touch for the rest of this week and will only be checking on gaia infrequently.
I will continue to update things here as I work through this problem. Again, THANK YOU everyone who has shown me support. The kind words and banners, and emoticons, and continued conversation in Misty's thread as well as PMs was been wonderful!!
03/20/07: Earlier this week I sent another inquiry to gaia and it was actually followed up on. Sadly the follow up was a disappointment.

I don't want to be a pest, but I am over anxious about the Squall banning thing. Is there anything I can do to try and get my accounts back? Is the info in my last PM helpful or do I need to provide more. This has been on my mind since last fall and I still am optomistic that there is some hope ^_^.

I have spoken to two of my team leads and the decision remains that we will not be able to lift the bans from any of your accounts.
I was disappointed by not being allowed to defend my actions nor to get a clear understanding as to what it was that I was doing that was interpreted as botting. Since I got nothing, I cannot continue to be a Squall on gaia. Rather I will be one of my other less noticable accounts. Thank you again to everyone who offered me support. If you care to spend time with me still on gaia, I'm currently using my ShadowPaws account. He is not big on poll changing nor other money making schemes, but he still as socialble as I ever was ^^. I spend my time Here if you'd like to drop by.

My account got banned
All i did was donate to gaia to receve monthley collectables and that... i donated alot and what i did was sell all the items in the market place and then keep th gold and what i did was donated to people to help them reach there dream avis and apparntley my account was bannec couse i was buying gold off other sites or something like that O_O
i dident even know you could do that
i messaged someone and thy told me why it was banned and that i cant do anything about it and i have spent so much on that account around £900 ^^;
