I was born in Dublin, Ireland. My father was born in America and me mum is from the same place I am. I've been here in 'middle American' (whatever that's supposed to mean), for five years, now; ever since me mum died. Mum & Da had divorced about seven years ago.
Mum just started gettin sick. The Doc found out she had cancer, she had probably had it for a year or so before the turmoil of the divorce. NOT that that's what I think caused it, but some people are superstitious, like that. I may be a little, but I'm not a complete lumox. Da came back to Dublin for the last six months. He took care of Mum's stuff, since she really didn't have any family. She had an brother, but he was injured and died of complications - or something like that. Her own parents died of cancer, as well.
I don't intend on letting it get to me. If it does come my way, it's in for a hell of a fight. I'm a stubborn little b*****d, as my Aunt Gertie always says, so I refuse to go gently into that good night!
Screw cancer! I figure, if it doesn't get me, the rest of the wackos in this world will !
