They makes some good points, but the same kinds of arguments could be made about alot of things in popular culture theses days.

The whole emo thing kind of comes to mind, but lots of folks seem to glorify it.

The way I see it, it just is. It has become apart of our shared popular culture whether we like it or not. We can either rant for it, rant against it or shrug and wait and see what becomes the next 'hot new' thing that captures the minds and imaginations of the youth.

I place myself in the last group. In a few years it will, if not sooner, be replaced by something else.
