Okay, about me.I'm 25, gay, goth(ish), I read more than I should, roleplay less than I should (my poor abandoned characters. . .), and get most other things about right, I hope.
I'm a hopeless romantic in the candlelit dinners for two, violinist outside the window, full-moon, breezes through fields of flowers kind of way. I'm also utterly captivated by someone who takes my breath away, makes me smile, laugh, crack up. I think she's perfect and nothing will convince me otherwise.
I have eclectic musical tastes - the only things I really hate are rap, R&B and hip-hop. Pop I can take or leave, unless it's really cheesy. Likewise country, reggae, electronica. I like jazz and blues when I'm in an easy-listening mood. Mostly I listen to EBM, darkwave, various types of metal. Industrial noise when I'm in a foul temper. I'll admit to a weakness for j-pop and j-rock if no-one is listening. . .
Favourite genres for books and movies would be s.f. and fantasy.
Current favourite authors - Neal Stephenson, Frank Herbert, William Gibson, Terry Pratchett, Robin Hobbe. If you catch me when I'm not feeling self-conscious I'll admit to having a weakness for Patricia Cornwell and Janet Evanovich.
Current favourite movies - always subject to change without notice, but The Dark Crystal, Willow, and Princess Bride have always been up there. Also, right now, Sin City, Chicago (don't ask, it makes me happy) and Adaptation. Escapism all the way, baby.
Aside from that, hobbies include roleplaying, writing - which I don't do enough of - painting, gardening (under duress, does that count as a hobby?)

Just some pointers. I play a wide variety of characters, in all sorts of settings. I figure it's easiest just to list the characters, which should give a fairly good idea of the sort of things I'm into. I play mostly canon right now. But I have played OCs in the past and am looking to get back into that. So. Onto the list of current/ recent characters.
Miho, Delia 'call me Blue Eyes' and Goldie - 'Sin City', (comic and film canon) by Frank Miller
Jadis - 'The Narnia Chronicles' (book and film canon) by C.S. Lewis. I include his theological works as part of the canon background for this character.
Modesty Blaise - the 'Modesty Blaise' comics and books by Peter O'Donnell
Valentine di Verona - essentially an OC, he's the brother of Mercutio, and has a one-line mention in 'Romeo and Juliet'. My conception of him is as an alchemist, concerned mainly with the summoning of demons. This tends to get him into trouble, as you can imagine. . .
Daffodil - another near-OC, from the short story short story 'The Magic Hill', by A. A. Milne.
Princess Josiane - the 'Song of the Lioness' series by Tamora Pierce.
Westley, the Dread Pirate Roberts - 'The Princess Bride' (book and movie canon) by Wiliam Goldman.

Chloe 'Colly' Shaw - an OC in a horror game - she's a tattoo artist with a half-demon half-brother.
