hmm.
a good way to get items is basically to just get gold by doing pretty much anything,
and then getting cheap stuff at the marketplace.
the stuff i have equipped on my avatar didn't cost all that much.
i just got stuff from friends and the marketplace.

what do you need the most help with?
and easy way to get gold is to post in forums, play games (jigsaw, pinball), and write in your journal, and commenting on profiles. :]
