Many many years ago Saphir and the princess of Jupiter fell in love, and during a war with the planet Uranus, Saphir was killed. Makoto, having been gifted with healing powers from the god Bennu, was so distraught at not having been able to get to him to save him that she sealed up those powers within herself. She vowed never to use them again to heal anyone if she could not save him. Her only solace was that she might see Saphir again in the next life.
During the silver millennium, Makoto was killed in the battle with Beryl and reincarnated with the other senshi. During this time Saphir and his brother were part of the Black Moon Clan and working with Wiseman to seek revenge against Serenity.The senshi manage to find their way inside the Black Moon Clan's lair, and something about Sailor Jupiter reminds Saphir of a love he may have forgotten so he helps them escape.
When Saphir tries to confront Dimande and Wiseman, to convince his brother of Wiseman’s plots, Makoto helps him and both of them begin to remember each other. When Saphir is mortally wounded Makoto finds a way to release the powers that she had sealed up long ago and saves his life. Shortly after, when Dimande confronts Wiseman to save Serenity after realizing the truth, Saphir intercedes to save his brother and to bring him to Makoto for healing.
Eventually Makoto decides to revive the kingdom she once ruled on Jupiter. They also have a daughter, Houou, born with wings, the power to heal, and a Phoenix Rose Crystal within her. Currently they are all living at the palace on Jupiter. Houou is grown and engaged to be married.
Peronality traits:
Saphir is often reserved and thoughtful, happy to help and support in the background instead of being the leader, especially when working with his brother Dimande. He is very intelligent and the alchemist / inventor of the group. Saphir does not thrill in fighting and only does so when necessary to protect those he loves. He prefers peace, time with family, and time to spend tinkering in his laboratory. Although he can be quiet sometimes, he is also known to launch into a lecture from time to time if someone needs a good talking to. Famiyl is of the utmost importance to him. Since growing up on Nemesis, where all they had was family, that sentiment has always stayed with him. Saphir is slow to anger and quick to forgive but not one to be crossed, especially when it comes to harming family or friends.
Talents and strengths:
Saphir does have the ability to create a shield or energy blasts but they are not as powerful as his brother’s. His biggest strengths lie in creating droids and other devices to aid in a fight. Two of his most recent inventions since coming to Jupiter are energy grenades and a self powered energy shield meant to temporarily cover one or two people for a short time when under fire. He has also created droids that can be stored in pieces of jewelry for protection and released when needed. He also has the ability to teleport and to summon things from his lab via a teleporter he built there. Lastly, as a remnant of his heritage before the Black Moon Clan days, he has a sword made out of sapphire.
