About
Silky soft chestnut hairAs soft as the ribbon tied
To her head in a perfect twist
With the wind blowing it
Through the fresh, blue air
The ribbon is yellow
A little golden gleam
Giving a shine to the
Wasted thick air
As she runs from that young fellow
The ribbon flies off her head
As her feet smack the frozen ground
The grass crisping and cracking
As the man catches the ribbon
In his hands, so cold they’ve bled
The air seemed spiked
With gloom and despair
Without that rich ribbon knotted in her hair
The boy sits on the solid ground
Angry he couldn’t melt and absorb into it, as he liked
Tears stream down her whip lashed
Cheeks, stained tastefully with a
Salty substance of sad and
She runs a hand through her ribbon-less hair, no longer a silky mane
As the mirror shattered, she smashed
The tears stop falling
As is an avalanche
And she brushes her frazzled hair out of her icy eyes
Now hard with disgust and regret of the shame she felt
From the tears she had cried over him, the tears she was bawling
Not much better, the boys cheeks
Get wetter from his own glazed eyes
As he thinks over what he’d just done as pictures pass in his mind
Of how fast the ribbon haired girl had run
His mind worries of the true love he seeks
He grips that golden, gleaming ribbon
Like it was his lifeline for love
But he knew better, for she and him were done
The tears pause in mid-drop and the regrets end
For this is why life is worth livin’."
