A fear in the back of their minds that one night, when they're not looking, some woman sitting at home armed only with curiostiy, a small library of alien movies and an associate's degree in accounting could hop on her computer and make the next big galactic discovery. All while eating leftover Kung Pao Chicken and waiting for her laundry to dry. That's the beauty of space - timing is everything.
