Hi, I'm 20 and in college.

About My Username:
My name is pronounced "AL-uh-MEE-dee-yang" and it originated from an Animorphs fanfic I wrote, many, many years ago. It's an obvious adaption of the name of the city "Alameda" in Northern California, where I was born. As an internet name it's nothing great, but I use it for everything, if only for the sake of convinience as no one is likely to use it before me XD. You can call me Alam, Alamed, Al, Medy, anything that suits your fancy. I'll also answer to MJ and Michan. ^^

Interests:
I love Macs, and drawing, and PhotoShop, and logic puzzles (like Sudoku... *yummy*). I also like life sciences and animals, especially birds. I LUV anime and manga, but only the non-ecchi, non-sports, non-mecha variety. ^_^ I love learning (as a rule) and reading speculative fiction (that's sci-fi and fantasy, FYI xD), especially that by Orson Scott Card and Anne McCaffrey. I find languages fascinating, and will probably be a linguistics major. I am a teeny bit fluent in Spanish (in typing, anyway, with access to dictionaries -- talk to me in person and I'm hopeless), know some French and am currently studying Japanese.

Art:
I want to be a mangaka when I grow up (lol), but will settle for webcomic artist for now... that is, if I get brave enough to start one. In the meantime, I'm practicing by doing comissions here on Gaia. I probably won't start a minishop, as I don't have that kind of time, but have done some freelance work already, and am hoping for some more -- PM if interested. NOTE: If the laptop in my avvy is open, commissions are open. If it's closed, I can't accept any new orders. Also, I do not buy art, just sell it. And I don't do trades.
