Welcome to the Abduction Project!
The issue of the fate of Earth had been under contemplation for some time. Some representatives looked down on us and wanted to control us. Some felt sorry for us and wanted to protect us. Others, still, wanted to destroy us and use our planet's resources.
To resolve this conflict, a council of elders, scientists and peacekeepers from all around the galaxy was established. The council was to settle Earth's own moon, and they formed a station to be known as Luna HQ. While at Luna HQ, they concluded that, to universally resolve all conflicts, the different alien races would be combined with the DNA of human..."volunteers" selected by the council. What? Yes, of course we have the permission of the humans involved. Anyway, the resulting hybrids would be much easier for the aliens from which they originated to accept.
And that is the history of our project.
So, when each new...collection round...commences, the council selects those who are to be brought to the HQ and integrated into the abduction project. After a bit of painless experimentation, the volunteers are implanted with their new baby and released. During their lifespans, the subjects are always under the council's strict supervision, of course, for safety reasons.
