Yeah, I posted on one and the circuit for it was ******** huge. It was probably more then twice as big as the rest of the circuit. Most mid-boosting circuits don't so much boost the mids, but roll off the bass and treble, making the mids more noticeable. I don't like this because it kills tone and really isn't boosting the mids.

Then theres another one, but the mid boost is real jagged. It only boosts one frequency and slightly the ones around it. From the "Rumble" kinda mids to the "honk" kind of mids, but only one. I've thought about some how wiring a three way toggle, so you can go between "High mids, Mids and low mids" kinda. I don't know if that would sound too good though. The first one did a well rounded mid bump, but I think the length might give me too much tone loss. I was looking at Eric Claptons mid boost in his guitar, but that was also more of a treble/bass cut instead of a mid boost. I don't know, i'm going to keep looking, and i'll breadboard the original circuit once I get around to ordering the parts. The pedal will be really cool I think, Like six people in the MF already want one.

Three octaves is still plenty of voice, it's really all you need. I like some Symphony X but haven't gotten too into them I guess. I don't like the stuff that gets more into neo-classical harmonic metal kinda stuff. I don't like the mix being buried under the keys I guess. I kinda like a bass heavy mix, but more often it's just a guitar heavy mix I guess. I love stuff like The Doors, and you really don't hear anything other then keys and singing with them, Type O Negative is mostly keys in a lot of songs too, but I think they have a pretty good mix. The bass is a bit too high in the mix in some of their songs though.

That's pretty cool, My band hasn't practiced in like a month almost. It sucks, I can't wait to fry some tubes again lol! I do think that i'm going to end up creating my own mid-boost circuit loosely based off a treble booster, and see how that works.

I used to be really into gothic metal, Stuff like Draconian. Paradise Lost is probably my favorite gothic doom. Now i'm mostly into stoner doom kinda stuff like Kyuss or Electric Wizard. Haha thanks, i really love music. I've kinda been neglecting my mandolin recently though... Having a broad singing range isn't really anything special since you normally just stick around one area. I can go low like Peter Steel from Type O Negative or even into some soprano range, but theres not really ever much use to go that high or low lol.

I've always wanted to get better at keyboard, but have had a hard time. I just can't do the two hands thing. I can play chords in both hands fine, but if i try playing like triplets on my left and quarter notes on my right, i just can't do it. I'd love to get a moog but I don't think i'd play it well enough to do justice for paying for it lol. I can do real basic computer stuff, but i'm more into analog circuits i guess. I've been working on a mid boosting design to go into my latest pedal but i just can't get a good design. I've gone through maybe two or three different schematics already and can't find one thats small enough but doesn't give me a jagged midrange boost.

Hey, I read on your profile that you're a tech nut too. Do you do much circuit work?

+1 for being into gothic doom
