Howdy, my name is 0yster! ;]But I'm sure you've already figured that out lol.
I'm attempting to see how far I can get in the Gaia world by only gaining items that I've received through events, donations or have won in contests.
I want to see if it's possible to create a decent avatar out of the kindness of strangers and out of my own work at trying to win contests.
Everyone is always so crazy about gold and how much you need to create something that looks good on here.
I hope to try to counteract that and show that you can actually make a nice avatar without having to be grubby with gold.
The only thing I've bought on my own was my hair style and the new beginner outfits that weren't released until after I had my account.
So I purchased them out of the store since I figured I'd of received it anyhow if I just registered.
Everything else I'm wearing I've acquired through events or contests.
So far I'm pleased with the results.
Of course there are a few items I'd love to have but until then I plan on trying to win them in contests threads.
Oh yeah, one other thing..since I don't plan on using my gold for anything [well, besides a new haircut if I get bored of this one] I plan on saving it until I have a decent amount and starting my own contest or just picking out a few Gaian's that I think deserve it. ;]
