This is the letter i sent to the gaia staff 3 weeks ago. I felt it was appropriate to post here since you all have been a part of my big gaia family as much as the talented people i worked with every day. Hopefully it will give us all a little closure. I'll miss you guys...

Wow, what a ride. 11 years ago i was a comic artist with little to no work.. poor most of my life but rich in dreams.
Thanks to that one fateful night skateboarding in a parking lot.. that Derek, CP and I stumbled over the idea that would become gaia online-- I went from eating food from the dumpsters of that parking lot (literally) to having a respectful job that made it possible for me to have a proper wedding with my luvly wife rosie, get a roof over our heads and even go to a nice meal now and then. I owe much of what I am today to gaia and i'm super thankful for everything. For more than a decade we worked to create something we all believed was the next level of an online community, and interactive entertainment. Over the years gaia has become exactly those things, but more than that, my family, my friends, and a creative powerhouse that had the strength to shake the world.
Gaia has a new direction now, and sadly I will not be included in that adventure. I do sincerely wish you all the best. I'm not sure what I will do from here, I had no real plan.. but If I've learned anything from all this its to believe in my creativity. Its time to see where that will take me smile
