my mom agrees with me that tenacious d is an exceptionally talented group, but she thinks the songs are ruined because they swear too much. i have no problem with the swearing whatsoever (i don't think it would sound natural if they didn't!), but i was wondering if anyone else considered this a weakness for them?

I don't think they'd be as funny if they didn't swear. Those guys are pretty creative with the old curses.

I'm really bland when it comes to swearing because I use more creative words, but the D has swearing as their god-given-right.
It adds to the vulgarocity (not a real word) that makes them such a great band.

Sotto Waratteru the D has swearing as their god-given-right.
It adds to the vulgarocity (not a real word) that makes them such a great band. agreed. it is hillarious with it and without it, their music just wouldn't be as totally freaken awesome.

If you listen to there censored versions it is just not the same like for instance "Oh the dragons balls were blazin' As I stepped into his cave. Then I sliced his freakin' cockles, With a long and shiney blade! 'Twas I who feaked the dragon, Feaka lie sing feak a loo! And if you try to feak with me, Then I shall feak you too!

I think that use the swears well, because in some songs, not a lot of words/adjectives can be replaced. Example: Kyle Quit The Band ...This is our song of exalted joy, cause, we only came to kick some a**. Rock the f***ing house & kick some a**. What we gonna do with all the cash...? There isn't a lot of stuff you can put in for f***ing. What other word could you possibly use to describe the house? They need those swears. They can work them perfectly into the song.

I can see how parents would disagree with the swearing, but that just means there not hardcore enough.
The swearing is the final touch on the songs that makes them just that bit more funnier ninja

The song Kickapoo couldnt exist without "********". Swearing is a natural part of Jack Black, go see the rest of his movies. And the way he says them and uses them is hilarious.
