Plot: On nights when the moon is full in the sky Minamino Shuuichi takes to hiding himself in a clearing until the physical attributes of his former self vanish. at first he could not control the changes, but as time progressed so did his ability to manipulate his form on those nights. However his grasp on such capabilities began to weaken and the appearance of Youko Kurama would disguise his human body the whole night through. This was not a problem, but on one lonely evening this seemingly annoying trait would take a turn for the worse and change the man's life forever unless he could figure out who or what was bringing about such calamity.

The humidity of the summer heat stuck mercilessily to the man's skin. Even though it was night and the sun had long since set he could not find a reprieve from the season's cruelty. His right ear twitched as a small insect landed on it and then quickly flutter into the air once more. Around the tall figure were the sights and sounds that one might associate with that time of the year. Crickets were humming noisely, fireflies flitted back and forth in the air creating something of an elegant lightshow for the gentleman to observe. "at least some entertainment..." He stopped himself midsentence and opened his mouth to speak again. The voice he heard was not his own, but then again it was. It was a voice that had not passed through his lips since the ankoku Bujutsukai Kessousen in his battle against Karasu. Indeed it was certainly a new developement to consider as he peared down into a serene pool of water. Bleak golden eyes stared back up at him almost seeming to know what horrible transformation was occurring, but never revealing the secret.
Truth be told Minamino Shuuichi had not denied his former self existed, however to anyone who cared to notice such as Hiei or Yomi, it was apparent he was repressing the stengths and personality traits that once belonged solely to him. A hand, his hand slowly reached up and caught hold of silver strands glistening beneath the moon's generous light. His hair should be red was the only thought that danced throughout his mind, or was it? Another feeling quickly taking shape as a thought, a reality that he might actually be enjoying this change began pushing itself into his mind as well. The strong hand then released its grasp on the tresses and moved slightly feeling the smooth skin of his face. It was a pleasant touch and his heart pounded with the excitement of realizing what was going on as his hand continued its journey upward and locked fingers around one of the fox ears sitting prominantly atop his head. "Densetsu No Touzoku, Youko Kurama..." voices from the past and present seemed to be whispering those words in his ears and his mouth then curved into a cruel smirk.
The part of him that was still consciously holding on tried desperately to revert back into the form with red hair and green eyes, but the attempt was futile and it too faded back into a darkness. Golden eyes then glanced down and wore an approving expression when seeing the clothing he had been forced to wear. At least as a human he hadn't lost his decent taste in clothing since had last taken a solid form. "i won't wait around here for nothing to happen." the man decided, and started back toward the city at a great speed. It was late enough that there weren't many people walking the streets and so he wouldn't be seen or gawked at by fools. he was beginning to wonder why he cared about what other who knew nothing about him thought, but it was inevident he concluded that while he had regained control memories of his current life weighed heavily on his judgement. A ghost from the past given the opportunity to live in the now would surely be affected by what he had learned from his mother. Kurama stopped in his track only a few yards from the entrance of the forest when his mother crossed his mind. How could he return home like that and not expect his family to turn him out. Shiori's eyesight was nonexistant, but when he spoke, when she would embrace him she would know that he wasn't the son she birthed, at least he wasn't in the form she gave birth to. "Oka-san..." he murmured, feeling his heart sink. with heavy steps he continued his way out of the forest and into a city blanketed in black.

(No one has replied to you yet. Will you message some of the members of the guild?)
There wasn't a breeze that night much to Maya's dismay. She had been working extra hard putting in overtime at the hotel cleaning rooms more thoroughly than usual. The time to pay her tuition was fast approaching and even though her parents offered to help her, she refused them. The school she was attending wasn't as renound as Tokyo University, but that didn't matter. Classes cost money all the same and it wasn't a cheap price to pay for a college student trying to maintain excellent grades and a job. To make matters worse she had carried along a few school books with her to study from during her brief and few breaks. She hadn't accomplished very much in ways of catching up on her studies, but at least she would have a bit more money to her name just in case she failed miseribly on her exams. Not that she wanted to have to embarrass herself and family with the disgrace of having to retake a class, but possibilities always exist.
Well neverthe less it was close to if not already one in the morning and her only means home was her own two feet. It wasn't too far of a walk though, maybe twenty minutes if she really tried hard enough. Three large books rested in her arms along with a bag that weighed heavily on her shoulder. no, she wouldn't be getting home in twenty minutes, this was already an apparent fact to her. As she trudged down the street with her shoulders somewhat hunched she caught the scent of something familiar. Instantly her mood changed and her shoulders went back and her feet stopped scraping morbidly against the road. It was the smell of flowers and perhaps sweat too since that was an unavoidable fate for anyone walking out at this humid hour. "Wait." she whispered as if urging the unseen figure to stop moving. her feet started pushing her forward before she realized what she was doing or where she was going. if she had that much energy to chase after a scent from a faded memory then she could make it home in no time. Alas home was the last thing on her mind and she miraculously managed to quicken her pace just enough to lay her soft brown eyes on the back of an extremely tall individual. "Wait!" she called out now running as fast as her legs could carry her, the books, and the bag. Maya probably missjudged the speed she could travel with such a heavy inventory and stumbled a bit, falling to the hard ground. her books went flying from her hands and the content of the bag spilled out on the street around her. Blood began slowly dripping out of a scrape on her knee and her skirt ended up in a rather comprmising position. That was the first detail she took care of when she was oriented and sitting with her legs crossed on the road. "Did he stop?" she asked herself, but in the open as well. "I have to talk to him... maybe he can tell me about what's going on."

(Yeah... I'll mention it to people I have RPed with in the guild before. Hopefully we will have a positive response.)
The late hour was more convenient than the fox gave it credit for he realized as he made his way around a corner. He didn't know where exactly he would be staying if his human form did not return that morning, but certainly it wouldn't be home to his family. Genkai's temple was always an option one couldn't count out, and the old woman had said she wanted it to be a refuge for youkai. Youko Kurama decided that he was indeed a youkai seeking refuge in this world. He himself didn't care who or what saw him or if they up and died of a heart attack over it. However his attachment to his bothersome human family hindered his apathy toward the fools in the Ningenkai. A car sped by and for a moment he knew his image was captured in the headlights, but if the driver notice he would never know for the car just kept on going at its reckless pace. "Wait..." he heard someone say faintly from a distance. Youko turned and saw no one in the immediate area and continued to walk. Then the sound of footsteps rushing after him stirred his attention and he glanced over his shoulder still maintaining a steady stride. A female it appeared was chasing him and this caused him to smirk. It was certainly not unlike his days in Makai where gorgeous being of both genders lusted after his physical appearance along with his stengths. He would not stop for this girl though because there was something familiar and uneasy about her as she dashed toward him. "No." he murmured, and started to turn another corner. A sound like a body hitting the ground echoed loudly throughout the empty night. "Damn..." he sighed, redirecting himself in her direction. He wasn't doing this out of the goodness of his heart, if that even existed, but more out of curiousity. The girl was definitely familiar somehow, her scent was undenably the smell of a person he or maybe Shuuichi knew. Bad haibt... we are the same... This woman is someone I met after being reborn. he thought to himself, drawing closer. spotting the textbooks he picked them up and upon reaching her dropped them in front of her on the road. she had been muttering something about something going on, but he didn't care. The perfume of blood was permiating the air even if it was just a small portion. He lusted for it to become more intense, but remembered to control himself and knelt down before her. He looked into her face and concluded she was a face from his recent past, but who was she "You are?" he inquired firmly.
(I'm a bad girl... i didn't split this up into paragraphs... Someone should shoot me.)

(No one is perfect. You don't have to separate them in to paragraphs if you don't want to.)
Maya's finger lightly poked the open wound on her knee. Most probably it was caused by a sharp peble tearing the skin. She could feel the warm sticky liquid dripping from the cut and trailed absentmindely without realizing the man had come to her side. It was only after he dropped the books on the ground in front of her when she noticed his presence. "Me?" she questioned, motioning shyly to herself. "I am Kitajima Maya. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, but I feel like we've met before." she admitted, quickly shedding her timid demeanor. Maya wasn't a shy girl by nature, but when the sky was so dark and she didn't know who she could trust on the streets she tended to reamin a bit cautious. "What's your name?" she asked him, starting to feel around for the items that had fallen from her bag.
There was something though that she wasn't telling the gentleman kneeling before her. She could already sense that his energy was not of the ningen variety and that she knew fully that he was a youkai. Ever since the incident when Sensui opened the tunnel to Makai, Maya's abilities which had along with her memories been locked away suddenly began to return to her. she didn't know that it was because the barier between the two realms had been tampered with, but she was aware that she could sense spirits and detect the differences between human and demon energy. "There." she said with a smile, tucking her bag against her body. Thankfully she had cleaned up her mess and nothing was lost in the fall. Leaning forward, Maya hoped to catch a glimpse of the man's face in the light of the pale moon, but all she could see was long silver hair and the shadow of two animal-like ears.

(I guess... I was just tired that night.)
Her name stuck in his mind like a dart with poison coating the tip. Kitajima Maya was the young girl from a few years back who had fallen in love with Minamino Shuuichi, no with him because he had to remember they are the same person. To make matters worse she was already feeling like they were acquainted once before which was in fact the truth. "My name... is... Kurama." he fianlly told her. Hey, just because as Shuuichi he felt the need to hide things from her, that didn't have to be the case now, right? His strong hand rested on her shoulder as he looked down into her face. It was the same face from his memories, except little older and very much exhausted due to the late hour. "Kitajima-san, if you remember meeting me then it must be so. However I won't tell you where and how. that is something you must figure out on your own." There, he told her the truth without relinquishing any information that might be dangerous for her in the long run. "where is your home?" he asked, resting his other hand on her opposite shoulder. What was he doing being so nice to this girl? He actually felt concerned for her safety because she had been a person important to him in the past. He didn't want her to run into any perverts who might take advantage of he. Wait a second, his mind was racing with thoughts, and then he recalled that he too was one of those perverts who could very easily use this situation to his own pleasure. However it seemed nineteen years of love from his mother was winning out against over one thousand years of his former life as a thief. Damn it all he thought, removing his hands from the girl.

A pout parted Maya's lips when she heard that Kurama wouldn't tell her where they met or anything like that. She enjoyed a challenge though and so she smiled and accepted the task with great enthusiasm. The gently yet harsh feeling of his hands on her shoulders made the girl swoon a bit and her heart began beating rapidly despite her efforts to come down. "My home?... It's... not too far off." she lied. Chasing after him caused her to travel away from her destination, but she didn't want him to know that. The last thing she wanted to do was seem like she needed an escort to get safely home. "Kurama-san." she started, "You are a youkai. I was wondering what sort." Maya couldn't see his back to confirm that he was a kitsune of some type, however she was guessing that was it, or maybe a cat. Her right hand danced upward and softly landed on his left ear althought she knew it was probably rude to do such a thing. "sorry." she gasped, pulling her hand back.

A small shadow dashed across the buildings of a well to do neighborhood, with a sack full of valubles Yuruki made her way to the more rural parts of town there she'd wait till the coast was clear. She heard sirens in the distance "It's too late" she thought as she leisurely walked through yards before hopping to the next but she felt a strange pull toward a glass building upon further inspection revealed there were plants inside. Quietly opening the door Yuruki felt a strange yet familiar presense she hadn't felt in a while. Sniffing around she felt sure it was a kitsune, not a Kyuubi such as herself but kitsune still "Where have I sensed this energy before?"

(Key-san, you did read the posts before yours right? Youko Kurama and Maya aren't in a building.)
With a small laugh the tall kitsune youkai stood up and forcefully pulled Maya to her feet as well. "I see. So then you aren't surprised by my youkai attributes." Again leaning down he gathered up Maya's books and handed them to her before he clasped her arm and began walking down the street with her. "I am a Youko. I'm sure you are familiar with the legends that surround my particular species." it wasn't even a question, he just assume she knew what he was and in regards his kind was held.
As they started in the direction of Maya's home, or rather her family's home Youko sensed an aura that wasn't familiar to him. His arm automatically circled around Maya's shoulders bringing her slight frame closer to him. "Stay close. It could be dangerous." he whispered. The actions he was taking with this girl sincerely bewildered him, but he just told himself that they were simply done because of his prior connection to her, nothing more. A flowery scent wafted upward from the young woman's hair and he had to control himself from doing anything inappropriate. After all he was a guy and she was a young woman ripe and perfect for deflowering at such a tender age. Is she nineteen like my human self? he wondered, but didn't bother asking out loud. Drawing nearer to a building Kurama sensed the youki growing stronger and then concluded the type of youkai they would be dealing with was a kyuubi. "Kitajima-san, don't take this personally, but..." Without waiting for a response he swept her up into his arms in order to protect her from any oncoming attack that may or may not be dished out.

(Hello, welcome new person.)
Before Maya even realized what was going on she was being lead down the dark road toward her own house, but she never told him where she lived at. Rather than getting freaked out on him she thought that because he was a youkai and a powerful one at that, maybe he just read her mind when she was thinking about home. "Yes, I know about the legends surrounding the youko." she said, trembling a bit when he pulled her close. His half embrace was comforting to her and even one that she could almost recall from a distant time. it wasn't long before she started sensing the new youki filling the area. She didn't feel threatened by it in the least, however felt that Kurama's concern was justified and didn't struggle when he picked her up.
What's this? she questioned in her mind. A situation long ago that happened just like this one was leading to, although there wasn't any suggestion of violence made against them yet. "Who are you?" she asked, closing her eyes. her head was filling with images of a man appearing and attacking, but a boy that she liked was holding her just in that same way to keep her safe. She almost saw his face, and then she blanked out. All the images that had been running through her mind like an old movie vanished and she saw nothing but blackness. In reality she had fainted with the sudden stress of not comprehending what was going on in her mind.

(It's not a problem. You haven't missed out on too much.)
Now it seemed Maya had become dead weight in his arms. Something mentally must have been triggered to cause such a reaction to take place in the girl. he wasn't too torn up about it though since this only made his life easier when confronting the new demon, and Hiei? The vertically challenged fire apparition was now on the scene, keeping himself hidden from sight, but his intense energy was obvious to anyone with high spirit awareness. My patience are growing short with this creature. I don't like being made to wait. He reached his hand up and extracted a tiny seed from behind his ear. Keeping it clenched in his fist he allowed only a bit of his youki to enter it, but not enough to summon the would-be plant's potential. at that moment it was still just a seed and could not be seen by the youkai inside.
(That's as good as I can do until Key-san replies.)

Hiei made himself known so that the fox wouldn't think him an enemy. HE began to run along side the fox not saying a word but mentally started a conversation. 'Who is she?'

((I'm sorry I didn't want to ruin the scene between Maya-san and Youko and I guess I forgot to mention the 'building' is Kura-chan's greenhouse ^^U))
Flying downward Botan quietly landed in an alley, vanished her oar and walked out. "Hmm now was I supposed to be looking for again?" the Grim Reaper asked herself while strolling along.
((RANDOM IDEA!!! can the 'something' Botan's looking for be Maya with a request from Koenma to be a Spirit Detective trainee?))
