I was thinking that Mew Aqua is the mew's tears. I mean think about it-when Ichigo cried on Masaya (when he was in the hospital), he waas suddenly healed, it also activated the larger mew aqua by the Christmas tree.

That could be part of it, since the Mew's tears seem to be connected to the Mew Aqua, but then you have the Mew Aqua crystals existing even before the tears activated them, so unless they were cried (?) by earlier Mews, that doesn't really work.

I don't think so because Mew Aqua existed before the mews. However because they are mew mews, they glow when they are very emotional(crying, sad, angry, ect).

I don't think so because, (don't shoot me and say it's a Manga things don't have to make sense) tears have salt in them and that is not pure water.
