I work at Gamestop. As some of you may or may not know, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl came out today. Well, yesterday I was at work and my manager told me he got a letter from our regional manager tell us that if we want to dress up in something pokemon related to promote the new release, we could.

I had been dying to cosplay Team Rocket. Infact, I already had all the materials I needed to cosplay Jessie (my friend and I were going to do a Team Rocket cosplay but it didn't work out). As soon as I got home I started work on it. I didn't stop until it was done 12 hours later. I stayed up until 7am, but it was sooo well worth it.

Craftsmanship wise, it's a joke, but who cares? I wasn't getting judged on it. It was just a bit of fun for work. Also for work I had the shirt pulled down to cover my intire stomach.. It was completely work appropriate. That's why I made the skirt longer than it should be too. But for the picture's sake, I bunched up the shirt and tied it in the back.
So here's the technical break down: The shoes, the black undershirt, and the gloves were either bought or things I already had. Given the lack of time, I saw no reason to waste my effort making something so generic. The earings were also bought. I didn't think I would be able to find earings like Jessie's, but apparently Claire's and Icing are all about bad fashion sense lately because there were about five different pair that would have been appropriate. I just stumbled upon them accidentally today when I went to get the gloves.
The skirt was pretty basic. Both the top and skirt are made out of a nice cotton stretch fabric that I doubled for the skirt. The shirt was made from a pattern for a man's dress shirt which I altered drastically. The "R" is actually made out of red felt that I just glued on using Sobo glue xd
The pokeball is pure fun. It hangs from my skirt (as you can see in the first picture). I took a round styrofoam ball (I'm telling you, I'm the queen of styrofoam) and painted it with styrofoam paint, sanded it down ( I didn't have time for many coats to smooth it naturally confused ) and painted it. My paint job sucked, but it was the last part of the costume to get done. It was 7am before I finished it. I was tired and didn't give a *bleep* anymore. It has inserted into it a hook (which is actually a paper clip I bent and stuck inside), which is attached to a large jump-ring attached to key chain....hook....thing. But it works lol.
I didn't have a wig, but who would want to wear a wig to work anyway?
