This is a world I made up....I'm writing a story about it. sweatdrop
Visit THIS website to look at the world for my story. It's slightly different than this one. (It's a Wiki, btw)

(A prettier sounding version of the next paragraph is on the guild home page smile )
It's about a world full of strange people with strange customs, culture, and even clothes. And of course, it is a world full of magic. Recently, the Nygreeans, from the country of Nygree, have been stirring and the country looks as if it's at a boil. It seems as though a civil war is about to break loose very soon. This seemingly insignificant civil war, although no one knows it, will lead to a great war, one that no one existing in the world has ever seen. The question each character must face is, will you go about your life, ignoring the war? Will you fight for the side you believe in? Or will you simply be a wanderer seeking adventure? This question will decide the fate of your character, their fate in the world of Telier.
OK, this world, Telier, has only 6 known countries in existence. To see a map of these countries, go to the Map! thread whee

Technological Stuff:
Keep in mind that this RP is based in the Renaissance period, so the technology isn't too far ahead. Actually, there is no technology. Traveling is done by horse, boat, wagon, or the least favorite walking (or possibly by magic or at least help from magic). They don't have electricity, candle light is what they use. The styles of houses are old, and kept warm by boilers or something of that sort. The only kind of plumbing they have is water pumps, which are costly so commoners don't usually have one in the house. (Obviously), water is heated by stove tops. And they don't have anything that's mechanical.

Telier ("tell" E r)

Pelruppe (pel r oo p)
A windy, somewhat cold place that's famous for their superior ships.
People:
A large majority of the population are farmers because of the land's rich soils. Their hair is typically dirty-blond(ish). The women all wear pastel colored dresses, (Ren. style), with bright petticoats on underneath that peek out at the bottom of their skirts. Shirt usually have only one sleeve. The color, design, and size of a person's belt tells about their family status, their profession, and their social ranking. (If/when someone makes a character from Pelruppe, then I will post about the specifics of the belts) Men wear neutral colored breeches, which are tight on the butt, (kehe), and pastel shirts with V necks that lace closed, both with colorful ribbons to tie up. They are usually clean shaven and their hair is extremely short except down the middle of their head, which is tied in a pony tail with more bright ribbon. Sailors, men, have piercings on their ears that all link together. When they jump into water, the water reacts to their skin and causes their feet to turn into a giant fin and gives them gills on their neck, (turning them into a Mermaid or Merman).
Traditions and Alliances:
They have strong relations with Nygree and Hanakaipo. Trade citrus with any country, most commonly Kieam. Their ships and sailors are relied on by all 5 countries, (known countries).
Have a tradition with the Nygree royal family and Pelruppe's royal family, (ask me if you want to know it). They have certain traditions on how marriage is proposed and such, (again, ask me if you want/need to know).
Magic:
It's very rare for anyone to have magic, but if they do, it's water magic. When a child is born with one blue eye, (the other any color), it is a sign that the child has some water magic.

Stairn ("stair" n)
Is popular for it's beaches and wild flowers. Usually the climate is pretty warm, never gets below 60, ever. The capital, Noirui, is the center of all major trade, especially between different countries. This is where all performers learn their trade because they have the best entertainment/entertainment schools available.
People:
They all wear earthy toned clothing and their hair is bright red that the women wear down with a small braid on each side of their head that is placed over their ears, while the men's hair cut so short that it sticks up except their bangs, which go down to their eyebrows. The women's shirts have scooping, rounded neck lines to show cleavage and the sleeves hang off their shoulders. A band of color on the hem of their skirt, or shirt for men, tells that you are higher class. It's extremely rare to see anyone with an eye color other than brown, (shades of brown not just "brown").
Traditions and Alliances:
They have specific wedding traditions, (ask me if you want me to tell you or to just post it for you). Also, nobles send their most favored child, or the one that shows the most promise, to Ockej to become warriors/fighters. It's considered rude not to haggle when buying something.
Very strong relationship with Ockej. Their biggest trade item is fabrics, especially silk.
Magic:
This countries magic lies in the performers. All performers have some 'sound' magic. They have the ability to use certain spells using any kind of musical instrument. They can only use spells that may change or stop sound and use that to their advantage. Also, extremely rare performers are able to build up energy and use it to strengthen themselves or an inanimate object around them.

Hanakaipo (hanak "eye" po)
A very tropical island where the people are known for being athletic, for having the best foods, most out of seafood, and for having the purest water.
People:
Both genders wear white "t-shirts" which are loose and long sleeved with ribbon to tie them up. Men wear pastel breeches that can roll up or be tied, and it was not uncommon to see women wearing breeches as well. Women wear light pastel colored skirts that can gather and tie on the sides. The men keep their heads bald, except for children, (it's a sign that one is a "man"), and they wear large flat straw hats when in the sun. They all typically have black hair, elven ears, oriental/green eyes, and are very tan.
Traditions and Alliances:
Strong relations with Pelruppe and Kieam. They are very ceremonial and have several ceremonies for different occasions. (The following is a detailed ceremony, don't read it if you don't care about the details yet), when you greet someone, it is customary to press your hands together, lining them up with your nose and close your eyes. You then would turn around to show your back, then turn around again to face the other person again. Then you open your eyes, lower your hands, but keep them together, and watch as the other person does the same. If one does not turn around, it shows that they don't trust you. Whoever is considered inferior, is the first to start the ceremony. If you aren't first to start, you keep your hands pressed together but down and watch the other person. Also, when you enter a home or building you are to put your hair up, (mostly for women), so that it is completely out of your face and your neck is clearly visible at all times. This shows that you trust those that are with you, and that you are also to be trusted.
Magic:
Hanakaipo's magic is related to anything pertaining to air. People who have some magic, wear a choker with a small ball in the middle. This ball has air inside it. The stronger you are, the stronger the air inside that will be, the strongest being a crazy tornado.

Ockej (Ock "edge")
A large mountainous island that is famous for its skilled soldiers, assassins, and spies. The climate is very similar to Hanakaipo.
People:
The people here wear all different types of dress from all the countries that they trade with, especially Nygree. Their hair is blond and the men usually wear their hair down past their shoulders while the women have their hair down to their elbows and wear it pinned back in creative ways. Their eyes are typically blue. Their skin is a peachy pink color.
Traditions and Alliances:
It's a huge tradition to have a great festival on the Summer and Winter solstices. These festivals include dancing, eating, games, storytelling, shopping, and sometimes (minor, as in sparklers) fireworks. They are strong allies with Nygree and Kieam.
Magic:
The assassins use magic to hide themselves better so that they can't be seen. When they 'graduate' from Dyreh school, they are then given magic from the Shadow God. Once they are given this magic, their eyes turn a purple color, the darker the purple is, the more magical power they have. A Dyreh is an assassin that has only the basic skills, no magical power. A Vasyl is an assassin with basic skills and magic, while a Murkif is a master assassin.

Nygree (n "eye" gr E)
Is known for their great cattle and best bred horses. They are known to be competitive and aggressive. They also are the center for knowledge and learning.
People:
A man not wearing a sword at his waist is extremely uncommon. The women tend to wear dresses that are slightly sheer. The sleeves are long and gather at the wrists, a belt is worn at the waist and white, thin, petticoats are common. Their hair is brown and rarely goes below their chin. Their eyes are gray while their skin is a blue-gray color. Men are known to wear white or off white sheer shirts that are long sleeved and have V necks that travel all the way to their navel, (hehe, i said navel). Also, they have horns that usually are aimed backwards.
Traditions and Alliances:
As I said before, they have certain traditions with Ockej. It's also a deep tradition to follow in your father's trade. Since they are so aggressive, it's not uncommon for men to get into fights or duels, on a regular basis.
Magic:
Their magic is of earth and nature. It can help things grow or die. All Nygrians who have nature magic are given a green vine tattoo on their stomach. As they grow more powerful, their vine grows more complex.

Kieam (k "eye" yah m)
Basically, a giant desert that is known for its amazing healing skills.
People:
The people here wear clothes similar to those that would be worn in Arabia, very loose and cover most parts of their body. Their hair is always orange and their eyes are golden or yellow. The men rarely have any facial hair and always keep their hair shaved. Women keep their hair extremely short. Their clothing is all different 'shades' of white. They all have fox ears and fox tails of different colors, because of this, they have enhanced hearing.
Traditions and Alliances:
Good alliances with Hanakaipo (for water) and Nygree (for horses). To celebrate, villages in Kieam typically have small dancing festivals where they do fire dances, (fire all over the place in flashy shapes and such). It's inappropriate to show anything below your navel, (kehe, I said it again), in public.
Magic:
Their magic is that of fire. The brighter yellow their eyes are, the more powerful they are. Also, those who have both water and air magic come to Kieam to train themselves as healers (these people are a mix of half Pelruppe and half Hanakaipo, which is very uncommon. Each of their parents have to be Mages of that parent's country for this to occur).

Celestia ("cell" S chi ya)
The only people who know that this country EVER existed are old old old scholars, and even they consider it a legend.
