I'm curious as to everyone's back stories as to finding the opening into the realm of awesomeness, or just how you learned about Tenacious D... sweatdrop

About two years back I used to be a little you-tube whore (I still am, but not as much sweatdrop ) and I first saw the video '******** Her Gently"; sadly, I made little note of remembering the band name at the time. Later, still on you-tube, I found like~thousands of videos of people lip sinking to "Only Gay Eskimo" (which in itself has discussions wondering if it is an original D song) and I still payed almost no attention to the name. It wasn't until my friend told me to check out the new Tribute video that I became hooked. From that time just over a year ago to now it's been all The D, all the time. heart

My Friend Drew introduced me to the Song Wonderboy and the song Tribute. And from there on I was like "wtf. CD. NOW." (I actually talk in chatspeak, tragic, I know.). So I bought the self titled CD and am now waiting for the money to buy the Pick Of Destiny.

The first Tenacious D song I heard was ******** Her Gently but I just thought it was a funny song and I didn't pay much attention to it. Then I saw several films starring Jack Black and I decided that he was the most awesome actor EVER (In my opinion). So I did my research (To this, I owe Wikipedia alot of gratitude) and I saw that Jack was in some band called Tenacious D. The name rang a distant bell in my mind. I then got onto Limewire and downloaded every Tenacious D song I could find. After listening to each song several times I realised that I was a Tenacious D fan. This led to me buying both the albums and a couple of posters including a Pick of Destiny one namely 'Arses'. So yeah, thats my story. *bows to applause that is probably just in my head*

Hmm... Well, I saw the self titled cd in Hot Topic once. (yeah, I know- horrible eh??) And I asked the guy at the little desk like thing if it was good, and he explained to me that the cd had just came out and it was Jack Blacks band and that I should definately give it a listen. But their store being highly over priced I lime wired it, wait...no... this is back when I had Kazaa.(sp?).... WOW. So Ive been into the D ever since then. Ive never actually bought that cd.... But yes, That is how I came to love the D, from some weird guy working in Hot Topic.

A long time ago sometime during the summer my cousin came over to visit and he said I had to hear this song called Tribute, but I never really got around to it until about a year later when my cousin asked whether or not I had heard the song yet. I loved the band’s sound as soon as I heard Tribute on his i-pod and listened to The D ever since and lived happily ever after... The End

I first got into The D when commercials started showing up for the movie.Back then I thought that they weren't the real Tenacious D, but people playing as them. Then they came on SNL and I asked my dad if they were the real Tenacious D, and he said they were.I was in shock. Then my friends and I started talking about it, and before you knew it I was a D Fan.
