I loved Vivi's character, but I didn't find him too useful in battle. The poor little guy couldn't take much of a beating and he was heavily reliant upon his MP to do damage.
I remember I accidentally selected Amarant, Vivi and Quina to go into that place where the magic is blocked. Vivi -learned- how to fight.

Vivi was the potion machine because he would only hit for like 60 damage when enemies had thousands of HP at that point.
