Alby’s Adventures
Chapter 1
“Oh no,” exclaimed a 100 Series Realian on the bridge of the Durandel, “Alby is at it again!”
“He has that power cable!” shouted Mary as she pointed toward the little dog chewing a cable near the back of the bridge.
“Not again!” Gaignun Jr. groaned as he walked over to the dog. A shock came out of the cord, and it zapped the dog. Alby yelped and whimpered as he ran to Jr.
“You really got to stop doing things like that.” Jr. said calmly to the dog. He held the tiny pooch in his arms.
“Is the poor little guy alright?” asked one of the 100 Series Realians.
“I’m sure he’ll be fine.” Shelly answered.
“Yesterday it was Little Master’s underwear drawer, and the day before that it was Master Gaignun’s newly pressed suit. We really need to give him some sort of training or something.” Mary said.
“Even though he is cute, something should be done.” Shelly added.
“I know. It’s just…” Jr. began.
“Well that settles it!” Mary said. Alby jumped out of Jr.’s arms and ran up to Mary while he wagged his tail.
“You hear that, Alby? You’re gonna get to go to training school.” Mary said and started petting him. Suddenly Alby lifted his leg and took a whiz.
“Ah! It’s all over! Bad dog! BAD DOG!” Mary screamed in agony. Alby jumped away and barked happily.
“Little Master,” Mary growled, “I have to go change my clothes. I’ll be back in a little while.” She looked down at her wet outfit and was completely filled with rage.
“Uh… yeah. Take your time.” Jr. stated. One of the 100 Series giggled.
“It’s not funny!” Mary shouted as she stomped onto the elevator. The elevator lowered, and Mary was gone.
Chapter 2
The transporter to the Foundation landed and door to it opened. Alby, who had snuck on board when no one was looking, jumped out and ran into the city. He sniffed the air and smelled something sweet coming from down the street. Alby gleefully followed the pleasant aroma.
“Hey… we don’t get dogs around here very often.” Johnny said as he saw the little dog running toward him, “Come here, little girl. You belong to Little Master, don’t you?” Johnny reached out and pet Alby on the head. Alby sat down, looked up at Johnny, and began to beg.
“Sorry cutie, but I can’t give you any food.” Johnny apologized. Alby barked and ran into the bakery.
“Noooooo!” Johnny exclaimed. He ran inside, but he was too late. When he looked in the bakery, pastries and cakes lied strewn across the floor. Alby sat off to the side of the bakery covered in flour… content at chewing on a loaf of bread. Johnny had been left in charge that day while everyone else was out, so he became distraught when he saw the mess. Alby happily ran around the bakery with the bread.
Then a figure came into the doorway and looked toward Alby. A gun fired and the shot hit Alby. The loaf of bread dropped from his mouth as he yelped in surprise as he fell to the floor. Jr., the one who had shot him, looked down at his pet.
“It took a while, but I’ve finally found you. You’re going to training school today whether you like it or not,” Jr. proudly declared, “This little antique that Shelly gave me sure came in handy.” Alby whimpered away after being hit by the water from a toy squirt gun. Jr. tried to wipe some flour off of Alby, picked him up, and looked toward Johnny.
“Sorry about the trouble he caused. I’ll pay for anything he broke.” Jr. said with concern. Johnny watched as Little Master walked out the door carrying Alby.
“The trouble he caused?” Johnny pondered as he began to clean up the mess.
As they went into the transporter so that they could go back to the Durandel, Alby looked up at his master questioningly. Jr. sighed as he looked toward the sky.
“You’re almost as much trouble as he was.” Jr. uttered softly.
Chapter 3
Jr. waited anxiously as the carrier from the Foundation brought Alby back from his training school. The puppy was overjoyed to see Jr. and wagged his tail happily as he approached his master.
"Sit boy!" Jr. commanded. Alby sat and looked up at Jr. awaiting another command.
"Good boy!" Jr. grinned, "This dog is reformed." Gaignun came off the elevator and saw Jr. with Alby.
"How did it go?" Gaignun asked, "Is he tame now?"
"Yep!" Jr. responded proudly, but Alby growled as Gaignun walked toward Jr.
"He doesn't seem much better to me." Gaignun chuckled nervously.
"What is it boy? This is Gaignun, Alby! My br- good friend." Jr. said carefully. He suddenly realized that there were people walking around the hanger who didn't and shouldn't know the truth about his connection with Gaignun. Alby continued to growl and then ran toward Gaignun.
"No!" Gaignun yelled, "Let go of my leg!"
"Alby, stop that right now!" Jr. demanded. Alby reluctantly let go and sat down wagging his tail.
"Please keep that dog away from me from now on, Jr." Gaginun pleaded, "It seems that the 'training' didn't get through his thick head." Jr. picked up Alby and took him to the park.
"I don't know why you did that, Alby." Jr. scolded, "You seemed fine at first, but why did you attack Gaignun like that? Bad dog." Alby whimpered. He looked at Jr. as if to say "What did I do wrong? He's dangerous. I just know it."
"Well... I'll forgive you for now." Jr. decided, "Oh yeah. MOMO found this and wants me to give it to you. She said that it's a present to congratulate you for completing training school." He took out an object and handed it to Alby. The pup joyfully chewed on the staff Jr. gave him. It was the same staff that MOMO had used as a weapon in episode one.
"Yeah. That bow that she bought when we first arrived on Miltia is a lot cooler than that thing." Jr. concluded, "I have to admit, though. I'll miss that 'Starlight' move she used back then." Jr. smiled as he remembered MOMO in the Starlight outfit that resembled that of Sailor Moon. He suddenly shook his head.
"What am I thinking?!" he snapped, "I don't... MOMO's not... geez." Jr. blushed, but the puppy was ignoring him and playing with the staff.
"We're just friends, right Alby? We're all just friends."
Later that day, Gaignun opened his closet door to find all of his clothes torn to shreads. Alby jumped out from the closet and attacked his face. The battle ended with a trimphant puppy running away from the deformed, angry face of Gaignun.
Chapter 4
Time passed quickly after Alby's attack on Gaignun's face. Jr. had to leave Alby behind and go off to many different places. Gaignun recovered with some surgery and decided to spend more time at work (and away from where Alby might find him).
All was well in Alby's life until the day when Yuriev attacked the Durandel. During the invasion, Mary ordered Alby to hide and stay quiet in a very serious tone of voice. Even as he saw Yuriev in Gaignun's body walk by, he stayed hidden just like Mary had told him to. His training had paid off.
Later, Alby was forced to go live on the Elsa for a little while. More weird events happened, but eventually everything calmed down. He was brought to a strange new place and MOMO started spending more time with him.
Soon after arriving in this new place, Alby sensed something very different about Jr. The URTV took Alby into his arms for what would be the last time they would see each other for a long time.
"This is my dog Alby." Jr. explained seemingly to himself, "He's an albino, so I named him Alby."
"So your name is Alby..." a voice remarked, "Hmm... I've never liked animals very much. Can we cook it, Rubedo?"
"NO!" Jr. objected, "Albedo!"
"What?" Albedo theorized, "Dog sounds like it would make a delicious dish."
"We're not gonna eat him!" Jr. protested.
"Jr., we have to go now." Shion announced as she got onboard the Elsa.
"Goodbye, Alby. I'll miss you." Jr. said. Alby barked excitedly and didn't understand what was happening.
"See you later... Alby." Albedo muttered, "The next time we meet, I just might have to find out what you taste like."
