As most Pagan and Wiccan persons believe in spirits, most also believe it is possible to befriend, tame or even create your own. I made this post to give the basics and to answer any questions you may have.
The practices of taming and spirit creation is as old as magick itself. and is a basic skill any greenhorn should learn, but most wont because of the amount of time an energy you must put in it. and the fact that they made a living (for lack of a better word) thing and must take care of it like it was a pet, a child or any living thing.
SPIRT ALIES:
A spirit ally is a spirit that is your friend and partner on your path. they are not a part of you and are completely free wiled. they are also much more self sufficient the a spirit you made. Geting one is not hard. just got outside and make friends with a spirit.
Familiars:
Much like spirit allies, a familiars is a living thing you connect deeply and on a spiritual level. a lot of people keep pets as familiars, but remember not every pet is a familiar and not every familiar is a pet-trees and plants can also be familiars and bugs and spiders sometimes work the same purpose.
Elementals:
An elemental is a spirit that you created and is going to be what I spend the most time talking about.
Note on spirit allies: do not under any circumstance let a unknown spirit enter your circle or home. If it tries to make it a requirement to be your friend then its probably a better idea to find someone else.

That may be a while... Jen kinda got kicked out of her parents house as soon as she turned 18, then she was living at a mutual friend of our's house, and now she finnaly (three months later) just got an apartment (the one the sperm doner and I lived in acctuley... gotta love small towns) and dosen't have a phone line, let alone internet... so ya... sweatdrop

She's doing pretty well I would say. She got a futon for her living room last week... On her list of stuff to get is still a toaster and a microwave... and chairs... LOL. but now she has the futon, so she's not sitting on the floor all the time anymore LOL. Her and I have been friends for years, since HS *nods*

ooh, futon! I've always liked the way that sounds... "futon"! One of my friends moved into a place round here recently (before we knew each other actually!) and she's had so much fun outfitting her place. Stress, but fun too I think 3nodding
