Fully a year has passed since Cloud and the gang defeated the deluded Kadaj and posse. Kadaj somehow managed to transform into Sephiroth, and nearly defeated Cloud, but Cloud, accepting that he didn't always have to fight alone, was able to defeat him in a stunning display.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Geo Stigma is no more. With some divine help, Cloud was able to heal all of the children in Midgar who were suffering, the last of who being Denzel. Now, a year later, Cloud has started to feel restless, feeling there is something he needs to do. Tifa, woried about him, suggests they travel around the world to ease Cloud's mind. She suggests they should travel the way they did when they first followed Sephiroth's trail three years ago.
