Accessed solely by the second story opening in the wall of the ampitheatre, is the Soldier Barracks. This area is for all 'unranked' runners. There is still a social heirarchy, but they sleep together in their respective packs, instead of by rank.
Their rooms are sparce, but lined with grass. Each pack has their own emblem designed by them, which hangs beside their alcove. (PM a guild mod if you want it posted here).
Sometimes, youths are seen quartered here as well. This occurs amidst a battle between pack leaders, who fight about which pack the youth should join. Once a pack wins First Rights, they may invite a youth to "sleep over" for a few nights, to see how well they get along with the pack. If he doesn't match with the first pack, the youth is passed to the next, and so on....more to come as I update the thread...

Altair flopped down in his spot in his pack's alcove, feeling every scratch Blackheart had landed on him. His world was pain, far worse than even when he had first started learning to fly, or training.
He was still mostly blind in his left eye, although he thought it was starting to clear up a little, and he thought he might possibly be able to see some tiny hint of color out of his right eye. But even at the rate his eyes were healing, it would be a while before his wing or leg were healed enough to be able to fight again, and he didn't like that at all.

Blackheart entered the baracks. He found a nice bed to liy down in and went to sleep.

Altair woke up some time later, and nearly panicked when he noticed that the world was fuzzy.
He calmed down considerably, though, when he realized that he could now somewhat see out of his left eye. He had been so lucky that Blackheart's attack hadn't blinded him. As it was, Altair was pretty sure he was going to end up with quite a few scars from that fight, and that many scars were just bad form. A few scars showed you weren't afraid to fight, but to have so many, so young...They made him look weak, and he hated them with a passion, almost as much as he hated Blackheart.
The Queen had said that they shouldn't fight until they had both recovered, but Blackheart was just there, Altair could see the purple-Blackheart spot. And for once, no one was in the barracks. No one would notice if he attacked the sleeping Blackheart.
But common sense prevailed. He would be the one who ended up worse off if he attacked in this condition, so he held himself back. He curled back up, and pretended to go back to sleep.

Blackheart's ear twitched at the sound of Altait moving. He woke up with a sudden startle and growled at Altair.

Altair's entire body tensed up. He waited for a moment, but it looked like Blackheart wasn't going to attack him right now. He probably knew the Queen would find out if he did. The Queen had the uncanny habit of finding out everything.
And besides, Altair wasn't the only one injured in the fight. He had done quite a bit of damage to Blackheart, too, and Blackheart probably wasn't in the best state to fight right now.
He still wasn't going to go to sleep until someone else from his pack came to the barracks, so he knew that Blackheart wasn't going to attack him while he slept.
Oh, you couldn't really trust packmates that much, but at least you could trust that they weren't going to attack you while you slept, which was what you needed the most, anyway.

Blackheart narrowed his eyes at Altair. He wouldn't attack him, he would just watch him. He didn't want to get attacked again while he slept.

He wished his packmates would show up soon. It wasn't safe to sleep with Blackheart around.
Even if someone else from another pack showed up, he'd have a witness to tell the Queen that Blackheart had attacked him before the rematch. Even though Blackheart was probably as wounded as he was, Altair didn't think that Blackheart would be smart enough to not attack.
Was he going to be able to get any sleep tonight? He wished he could, but without someone else around, to guarantee that Blackheart didn't attack him, it was unlikely.

Blackheart got up and stretched. He wasn't in bad condition from the fight. He walked out of the soldiers baracks and back outside.

Altair waited a few minutes, listening for Blackheart's return. When he heard no footsteps approaching, though, from Blackheart or anyone else, he allowed himself to relax a little, and fall into a shallow sleep, still ready to wake at the least disturbance, lest Blackheart try to fight him while he was still in less than perfect condition.

Feeling quite a bit better, Altair streched out, for once glad he wasn't surrounded by packmates, and thus able to stretch and sprawl out all he wanted, without having to worry about wings or legs or muzzles in his way.
He knew he still wasn't recovered enough to take on Blackheart, yet, since he could still barely see out of his eye, but he still couldn't wait for the rematch. Let that one see who the better fighter was. He, Altair, would win!
But first, it was time to eat, he decided, as his stomach rumbled in annoyance. Time to go outside and hunt, then.
He left the empty barracks with a bit of annoyance, since it had been so nice to be able to have a bit of space, and not have angry packmates snapping at him every time he moved, but food was far more imortant than such luxuries.

The now grown Rensuke wandered into the Soldier Barracks. This seemed like the least noisy place to rest for a while with all the fighing going on he wanted nothing to do with it. He would wait for the right time.

Lieu looked around. The Barracks were to be his new sleeping quarters. He sniffed around his spot, finding it acceptable, he plopped down and decided to take a quick nap.

Diomedes walked into the barracks and spotted the grass. He then went and sat down stretching his limbs out in an almost lazy fashion.

Sleet went into the barracks and found an empty alcove, he went up to it and laid down, It was not the best thing as his ice started to trun it to a pale white.
